4. THE GOSPEL OF JOHN.

WHAT IS THIS BORN-AGAIN THING?

A Wonderful change in your life.

The first person who wanted to know the answer to this question was Nicodemus, the leader of the Pharisees.

His name means “CONQUEROR” ( victory ) OF THE PEOPLE.” He was an upright man upholding the laws of Moses. Yet he had a hunger deep in his heart that there must be more than he knew or had experienced.

So he, not to be seen by men, came to Jesus by night to search out this matter.

Jesus gladly welcomed him. “Come in, Nick, and warm yourself by the fire. It certainly is cold outside.”

Nicodemus reverently entered the room, glad to warm himself near the crackling fire.

Once seated while drinking a hot beverage. Jesus asked, “What is it you want to know?” Jesus lovingly looked straight into his heart ❤️.

Nicodemus is seeking Salvation.

Nicodemus, though a good man, wanted to know how he could be sure he would go to Heaven.

Jesus, reading his heart condition, knew that Nicodemus was a devout religious man but spiritually empty of the Holy Spirit within.

Yes he was a lost soul, as religion could not regenerate his soul.

Jesus answered him. “Nicodemus, you must be born again!” John chapter 3:7.      He continued, “Unless you are born again, you will not even see the Kingdom of Heaven.”           John chapter 3:3.

He gently taught him, saying,” No matter what good you do on the outside is insufficient, as you need an inward change.”

That can only happen through a supernatural act of God when the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and brings New Life, transforming our souls.

Nicodemus questioned this and asked Jesus how this could be. “Can a man enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

Jesus replied, “Truly and honestly, I say to you. A man must be born of water (natural birth) and the Spirit ( spiritual birth).

The new birth is not a reformation of human nature but a creative act of the Holy Spirit.

2nd Corinthians 5:17.

“THEREFORE, IF ANY MAN BE IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATION. OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY; BEHOLD ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW.”

You see, the work of Christ in our lives is a perfect transformation.           Our sins are remembered no more FOREVER!!  So when we stand before God in judgment, we are only judged according to our works.  The result is a “reward”  or loss of that reward, not our Salvation.

I Corinthians 3:11,12. This occurs at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The condition of the new birth is putting your faith in Christ crucified.

Through the new birth, the believer becomes a partaker of the Divine Nature and Christ Himself.

Galatians chapter 2:20.

I AM CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST: NEVERTHELESS, I LIVE, YET NOT I,  BUT CHRIST WHO LIVES IN ME: AND THE LIFE I NOW LIVE IN  THE FLESH, I LIVE BY THE FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD WHO LOVED ME AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR ME.”

Crucify that old sinful life.

You see, the Christian life is the out-living of the in-living Christ.

In Ezekiel chapter 36:26, God Himself puts it this way. “I will give you a new heart and put a new Spirit in you.”

Another wonderful scripture to consider is.                                      1 Peter chapter 1:23.

It is “being born again not of a corruptible seed ( sperm) but of an incorruptible seed” ( God’s eternal sperm that never fades away or dies).

Can you see, dear reader, that this means your Salvation is incorruptible !!

Are you truly born again, or are you trying to be a Christian by your actions or good character?  That’s why Jesus was imperative with Nicodemus. “You must be born again.” It is a heart change that will lead to good character, and a likeness to Christ.

You have heard the term “repent” In the Aramaic the language spoken of the time of John the Baptist it meant more than changing your mind. The Hebrew and the Aramaic tell us to “leave our sin behind and turn to the Holy God.”

We obey Him because we love Him and are eternally grateful that He suffered and died for us, shedding His precious blood on Calvary’s tree. We cannot earn our Salvation. We accept it as a free gift from God. Oh, thank you, Jesus!

“It’s not by our works of righteousness that we have done, but according to His Mercy, He saved us.”

What a wonderful Saviour is Jesus my Lord, what a wonderful Saviour is He. To be loved, chosen, and born again thrills me no end, and I want to shout it from the highest hill so everyone will come to Him and be saved.

There is no other way to God, only one road, not many roads that lead to Heaven.

JESUS SAID, “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE CAN COME TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME.”

John 14:6.

He is the ONLY WAY.

Allow me to ask you, are you Born Again?

This is a personal question, not a private one. If you are genuinely saved, everyone will know. You can’t keep quiet, and people will see the difference. You will suddenly want others to know. You will not be afraid to speak His name and lead them to know Him.

ARE YOU BORN AGAIN?

Ask Jesus to save you. Here is a typical prayer you can pray.

“Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and need to be born again. I believe you opened the way for me to go to Heaven by dying on the cross and rising again. Please come into my life, forgive my sin, and live your life in me. Thank you.”

Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, you are born again; tell someone, or email me at  heatherdalzell777@Gmail.com.

Go forward in your new life, attending a Bible-believing Church where you can understand God’s Word and meet others in God’s family.

“Father, please bless and protect this dear soul that has come to You now. Lead and guide (him her) in your ways and keep them forever in your care.”

Yes, Amen.

You now have peace with God.

Blessings to you.

This gives us a glimpse of what flowers in Heaven may look like.

Can’t Wait!!

3. JOHN. THE INCARNATE JESUS: GOD IN BODILY FORM.

THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON.

He is the Center Glory of the Gospel of John. Twenty-three times, Jesus reveals Himself as “I AM.”

We will look at those scriptures that reveal His relationship with us.

“I AM  the Bread of life.”

You eat of Him and you will not be hungry for anything else.

“I AM  the Light of the World.”

You, Jesus light up my life!

“I AM  the Door of the   Sheep.”

Open your heart’s door and let the Saviour come in.

“I AM  the Good Shepherd.”

He gave His life for you.

“I AM the Resurrection and the Life.”

Jesus is the LIFE GIVER.

“I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

There is no other way!!

“I AM the True Vine.”

He is the Vine, we are the branches.

Fundamentally, our Lord’s message was about HIMSELF!  He didn’t come to preach the Gospel:                 He Himself is the Gospel.

He didn’t come to give bread; He said,  “I am the Bread.”

He did not come to reflect light as the moon reflects the sun. He said, “I am the Light.”

He did not merely come to show us the door. He said, “I am the Door.”

He did not come merely to introduce a shepherd. He said, “I am the Good Shepherd.”

He did not come just to show us the way. He said, “I am the way, the truth and the Life.” There are not many roads that lead us to Heaven.

JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY!

Finally, He did not come  merely to plant a vine. He said, “I am the Vine.

HIS EQUALITY WITH THE FATHER GOD.

Let’s look at the beginning of chapter 5:19 … following.

See His public reply to the Pharisees.

“THE SON ONLY DOES WHAT THE FATHER DOES.”

“IF THE FATHER RAISES THE DEAD, SO DOES THE SON.”

“IF YOU DO NOT HONOUR ME THAN YOU DO NOT HONOUR THE FATHER.”

“The Jews sought all the more to kill Him because He said that God was His Father ……. therefore making Himself equal with His Father.” EQUAL WITH GOD!!

Read that passage slowly and carefully and note that He does not only make Himself equal with God, but He already “IS”equal with Him. He is:

ONE WITH THE  ETERNAL FATHER.

“I AND THE FATHER ARE ONE.”

You can see clearly that Jesus is equal with God in this eye opening passage.

Equal in working. Verse 19.

Equal in knowledge. Verse 30.

Equal in resurrection. Verse 21 with verses 28,29.

Equal in judgement. Verse 22 with 27.

Equal in regeneration. Verse 24 ,25.

Equal in self-existence. Verse 26.

Please take the time to read them and they will not only enlighten you but will build your faith that Jesus is who He said He was.

HE IS THE TRUE GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH.

Today we have many and various religions coming to our door claiming that Jesus was a created being, and was born at the creation of the world. He is an Angel of some kind.

They say that He is not the only way to God as there are many paths that lead to God.

They will tell you that if you are a good person God will not reject you from His Kingdom, thus sin is not sin… as we all make mistakes!

Dear reader, be polite but do not open yourself up to attending their Bible studies or their churches. Yes they can be nice people, even better than some christians!

You must, must, Must!  get back to reading your Bible , attending a sound Spirit filled, Bible believing, soul winning, loving church that will lead you into a close relationship with God.

Blessings. Heather Dalzell.

FOR YOUR MANY BLESSINGS.

2. THE GOSPEL OF JOHN.

JESUS IS THE WORD.

THIS IS THE MAJOR THEME AND THE KEY VERSE IN THIS WONDERFUL GOSPEL OF JOHN.

You may wonder what is the key verse from this book of John that stands out to you and the world.

What is the theme of this gospel that stands out beyond those written by Matthew, Mark and Luke?

Which verse would you choose?

This is the suggested verse.

BUT AS MANY THAT RECEIVED HIM, TO THEM  HE GAVE THE POWER (or authority) TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD, EVEN TO THEM WHO BELIEVE  ON HIS NAME.

John chapter 1: 12.

The King of Kings has the ‘Power’ to give  ‘Authority.’

This theme runs throughout the chapters. As we read the following chapters, we see how this is so.

1. His own received Him not.

2. But to the many who did receive Him.

3. He gave them the (dynamic) power to become the Sons of God.

Jesus promises Nathaniel and Simon some powerful things to us.

“You are … you shall be!” “Greater things than these shall you do…….”

This life power operates in you today if you have sincerely received Him. Claim His promises, step out by faith, and do them! Miracles will happen before your eyes; you will be astonished at what God can do through you.

The mighty miracle of feeding the five thousand with the boy’s little lunch will reveal His power to you if you surrender yourself as he did his lunch!

HE TOOK!  “Take me, Lord.”

HE RECEIVED!  “Take me as I am.”

HE BROKE!  “Beak me, Lord”                                                            HE USED!  “Use me Lord.”

BE THE LUNCH!

JESUS’S DIVINITY            and HUMANITY.

Here in this Gospel, we truly see who Jesus was and still  is today.

1. THE WORD.

2. THE LIFE.

3. THE LIGHT.

4. THE SON.

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD IS JESUS.

The first two declare His relationship with God the Father. The second two declare His relationship with us.

Let’s glean together the meaning of the word “WORD.” i.e.  The expression of God before all creation. Verses 2 and 3. Eternally and individually, He was not from the beginning. He was already in the beginning, as seen in verse 1. He was not only with God, He was God!!

JESUS IS GOD.

“IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, (Jesus) AND THE WORD WAS GOD.”

John 1:1.

The Word (logos) and God cannot exist without each other.

They are distinguished from each other but inseparable.          “The same was in the beginning with God.”

Simply put, Jesus the Logos is with God. But the Son is in the bosom of the Father. Jesus is ‘not’ a created being. He is the second member of the Trinity. He is both eternal and personal.

In relation to us as human beings He is the “LIFE” and the “LIGHT.”

How “wonderful” He is. Why? In this first chapter alone, there are no fewer than eight titles given Him.

THE WORD,          THE LIFE,  THE LIGHT,

THE LAMB, THE SON,

THE MESSIAH.   THE KING and THE SON OF MAN.

The WORD (Jesus) BECAME FLESH.

THE LIGHT (Jesus) – SHINES IN THE DARKNESS.

THE LIFE – IMPARTING NEW BIRTH.

THE SON – FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH.

There is so much more to share about our Lord Jesus but we conclude by reminding you that you must believe and receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. This is how you are given the gift to ETERNAL LIFE!!

John 3:16,17.

“AS MOSES LIFTED UP THE SERPENT IN THE WILDERNESS, EVEN SO MUST THE SON OF MAN BE LIFTED UP; THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES ON HIM SHALL HAVE (Here and now) ETERNAL LIFE.”

Please invite Him into your life now before He returns, or you will be left behind!

PRAYER OF SALVATION.

“Lord Jesus, I put my trust in You as the ‘Living Word.’ I ask you to cleanse me from my sin and unbelief. Come into my life now and save my soul. I now receive You as my Lord and Saviour.”

Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, let me know so I can encourage you in your new  walk with Christ.

A RARE AND A NATURAL ROSE.

Thankyou my Creator God.

1. THE GOSPEL OF JOHN.

JOHN THE APOSTLE AND EVANGELIST.

Sweet JOHN.

John the Disciple seems to be the youngest of the disciples.                         He was especially favoured with our Lord’s regard and confidence. He was spoken about as the disciple whom Jesus loved. Some affection was shown between them, such as the time he leaned upon Jesus’ bosom.

John 13:23.

Remember that John remained with Jesus right through His terrible suffering, His trial, and His crucifixion even to His very last breath.

“MOTHER, HERE IS YOUR SON.”

Jesus regarded John so highly that He entrusted His precious mother to him to love and care for her for the rest of her life. There was no hesitation on John’s part, and he gladly took her into his home.

Following Jesus’ resurrection, John was the first disciple to enter the tomb.

How loving was this man, once called a Son of Thunder, now of a sweet and gentle character. You can see this change as you read his Epistles.

GOD, THE VERY ESSENCE OF GOD IS LOVE!

WE LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US”.

LOVE IS OF GOD, FOR GOD IS LOVE.” John 4:8, 10,11.

BELOVED, IF GOD SO LOVED US, SO WE OUGHT TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER.”

John exercised his ministry at Jerusalem with much success and outlived the destruction of that city as Christ predicted.

Later, he was banished to the Isle of Patmos. It is. Recorded that his enemies tried to kill him by boiling him in oil, but he wouldn’t cook! So they banished him to a desolate, dry place at Patmos.

THE CAVE WHERE GOD REVEALED  TO JOHN VISIONS AND DREAMS OF THE APOCALYPSE.

Patmos was a small rocky island. It was used as a place where many criminals of Rome were sent to serve their  prison sentences under harsh conditions. After serving his sentence John was set free where he returned to Ephesus.

Here also penned the Gospel of John and the Epistles wherein he wrote about the Saviour’s life, death and resurrection. He clearly presented the way of Salvation through the story of Nicodemus emphasizing the need to be –

“BORN AGAIN” to enter the Kingdom of God.

BORN AGAIN… MEANING CONCEIVED AGAIN.

This message has circled the earth 🌎 and only God knows how many have been saved from eternal destruction. Thank you John!

He wrote these books about 90 A.D. and passed them on.          It is traditionally believed that John survived all the Apostles. He lived to an old age, dying of natural causes sometime after A.D.98. During the siege of Tragen, he became the only Apostle who did not die as a Martyr.

We praise and glorify our Lord for this dear man of God, beloved John.

Great is his reward in Heaven.

Amen.

BORN TWICE, ARE YOU?

Ask Jesus to save you today

“Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for me. I am a sinner and want to be accepted into your Kingdom. Please forgive and cleanse me and save my soul.”  Amen.

Peace, be still and know that He is God.

Blessings!

1. THE GOSPEL OF LUKE.

“BEHOLD THE MAN.”

JESUS BEFORE PILATE.

In Matthew, He is the King.

In Mark He is the Servant.

In Luke, the Man.

Each writer presents our Lord from different aspects. Nothing more authentic was ever said that those four penmen wrote with the simplicity of men whose desire was to let the story speak for itself and would never dream of twisting it to suit their views.”

Moreover, they wrote independently of each other, and would have no idea of the ultimate fourfold design that their writings would comprise.

Each seemed to have a different class of people in view, and they wrote accordingly.

We also need to remember, “God inspires all scripture, and these incredible men wrote supernaturally guided by the Holy Spirit.

So then, we have in Mathew Jesus Israel’s King; He is Jehovah’s Servant; in Luke He is the Perfect man.

In Mathew, we have significant groupings.

In Mark we have we have successive snapshots.

In Luke we have a beautifully told story.

DR LUKE, THE AUTHOR OF THE GOSPEL OF LUKE.

Yes, a beautifully told story- that’s what it is. It has been described as “the most beautiful book ever written.”

Luke has the pen of a gentleman and an artist. An old tradition has it that he was a painter. True or not, he was an artist with words, he could paint pictures that sit in our imaginations and last in our memories.

The gospel of Luke is an enjoyable book to read. It has a human beginning. Right away, we are in the hearts and homes of simple-living, godly, likeable folk. – Zacharias and Elizabeth, Joseph and Mary, neighbours and cousins,” Shepherds,  Simeon and Anna.

Luke spends more time lingering around the cradle to see the Baby in those humble swaddling clothes.

Matthew at once concerned himself with the genealogy, and Mark eagerly started at the pubic ministry of Jesus. Luke lingers over the nativity – the human birth and babyhood of the “Holy Child.”

The emphasis on the human aspect is the master key that unlocks Luke’s gospel, which interprets the inward meaning behind the outward story.

Luke only mentioned that “the child grew, and He “increased in wisdom and height.” Chapter 2:40,52.

At His baptism, he was thirty years of age—chapter 3:23.

THE BAPTISM OF OUR LORD JESUS.

Luke mentions the importance of the diety and royalty of the wonder-child. Gabriel announces:

He shall be called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David.” Chapter 1:32.

From the birth to the baptism, Luke emphasises the humanness of Jesus. Luke Makes no mention of the star signifying the birth of a King. No Eastern wise men brought gifts to honour the new-born King.

We now pass to the manhood of Christ; Luke tells us that His ministry began at Nazareth, where He had been brought up.

We see the human emphasis when He wept over the city.  Chapter 13:34.

THE COMPASSIONATE CHRIST.

When He knelt in prayer.Chapter 22:41.

Being strengthened by an angel.  Chapter 22:43.

Agonizing so sorely that His sweat was  “as great drops of blood. Chapter 22:44.

And yielding up His Spirit on the cross:”

“INTO YOUR HAND, MY FATHER, I COMMEND MY SPIRIT.”

Chapter 23: 46.;

One of His final prayers for us was to watch,

“Watch, therefore, and PRAY ALWAYS !” That you do not enter into temptation.”

Here alone Jesus verifies his resurrection-body to the eleven disciples, and shared His humaness with them.

Chapter 29: 38-43.

All through the gospel we see a human dependence on God expressing itself in prayerfulness.

Jesus Himself reminds you and me that we must be dependent upon God … for… all things… in all circumstances.

He encourages us by saying, “Without me you cannot do a thing.” How true is that?

“We must pray without ceasing.”

“Be instant in prayer.” God loves you passionately and loves to hear your voice, reaching out to Him in prayer.

He delights in answering your requests, large or small, though they may be. Pray verbally and in your mind. He indeed hears your prayers, expressed or unexpressed.

“PRAY IN JESUS’ NAME”

I cannot exist without Him guiding, strengthening, and keeping me from being trapped by the evil one.

Stop trying to do things your way without consulting God,

With God, all things are possible. Put your trust in Him today. Invite Him to rule your life. Ask for forgiveness for all your mistakes and selfishly wanting to live life your way.

As humans we must be dependent upon prayer as Jesus was.

He prayed for Peter and assured him,

“I have prayed that your faith will not fail you.”

And dear reader, He never ceases to pray for you also. See how much He loves and cares for you?

ALLOW JESUS TO CHANGE YOU INTO SOMEONE BEAUTIFUL!

May the Lord keep you in His love and care until we come together again to enjoy His Precious Word.

Amen.

8. THE BOOK OF MARK.

HOW TO LEAD A PERSON TO CHRIST.

You may already desire to lead people to Jesus, but you are unsure how to go about it.

Today you can learn what to do.

Here is how.

There are many ways to approach the subject practically.

By asking a direct question. ie, “If you died today (I hope you don’t), would you know for sure that you would go to Heaven?” Or..

“Do you have a church that you attend?”  Or..

You can share the Gospel from their point of need. I.e. Jesus as their friend. Jesus is their hope for the future, Jesus as their Healer, Comforter, and Strengthener,

Or some other approaches…

The state of this sin sick world world.

The second coming of Christ who could return at any time. But, Fear not!

The Holy Spirit will lead you how to open the subject. I don’t plan what I will say, but He leads me every time.

Memorize some scriptures that you can use to help them to understand the message of Salvation. If your memory is poor then use one verse and go from there ie…

Memorize this Gospel verse.

John 3:16.

You can use your Bible if that’s easier.

Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded” etc.

The verses in this whole chapter are excellent to enlighten the Jew that Jesus is their Messiah.

THE METHOD.

1. We are all sinners. How sin entered into this world (Adam and Eve). Romans 3:23. “ALL HAVE SINNED.”

Sin passed on to all men. We were born sinners and need a Saviour.

Psalm 51:5

“IN SIN MY MOTHER CONCEIVED ME.”

2. The Punishment for sin is Eternal Separation from God in Hell. And the total isolation from any other person you may know, plus the torment of hellfire that is never extinguished. This is called the second death. (Spiritual death)

3.The remedy for sin is Jesus Christ the sinless Son of God who paid the price for sin.

“God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.”

2nd Corinthians 11:15.

“The payment for sin is death, but the free gift  of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23.

He shed His blood for the cleansing away of our sins. He died so that we may truly live. 1 Peter 2:24.

“He bore our sins in His own body on the tree (cross), that we, being dead because of sin, should live unto righteousness, by whose stripes (wounds that ripped His body to shreds). WE WERE HEALED!!”

NOW MAKE IT PERSONAL.             Share your testimony of how you were saved. Keep it Sharp, Short and Simple!

EXPLAIN.

This is not a religion but a personal relationship with God through Jesus.

BRING IT HOME.

“What about you?”

“Are you a sinner?”

“Do you believe that Jesus wants to save you?”

Would you like me to pray for you? This is where you bow your head a close your eyes and thank God for them and ask Him to open their hearts to receive Him.

Now, invite them to repeat the prayer of Salvation after you.

Encourage them to pray verbally or in their hearts to invite receive Jesus into their lives.

You can quote or read Romans 10:9-13.

“WHOEVER CALLS UON THE NAME OF JESUS…

(They may want to pray silently  in their hearts).

SHALL BE SAVED!”

OFFER ASSURANCE OF THEIR SALVATION.

Assure them,

“The moment you prayed this prayer Jesus Christ saved you.”

Offer to meet with them  at a another time.

Offer to meet or drive them to church. as going to Church can be daunting.

A Spirit filled Church.

Obtain an easy-to-understand Bible for them to read.

Offer to sit with them at church so you can introduce them to the Pastor.

Please encourage them to share their newfound faith with a friend. This cements the decision in their hearts.

This method is how I share the Salvation message and many have come to Christ. It is adaptable according to the person’s age, their intellectual capacity, their concentration level.

They may need to ask questions, answer them patiently and succinctly. If you do not know the appropriate answer, tell them that you will find out the answer and get back to them.

Stay on the subject as some people will ask questions to avoid making a decision.

Dear reader, God has people you can reach that I cannot touch.

If you are a shut-in, pray that God will send them to your door.

You can share the Gospel through the media, texting, and by sending tracts through the post.  Anointed music is a great way to share the Gospel.

MY EXPERIENCE…YET NOT I.

IT IS GOD AT WORK IN AND THROUGH ME!

Complete Strangers.

A lady waiting for a bus  on the verge of suicide came to Christ. I gave her my mother’s Bible.

Mum’s Mini Bible.

A man beside me on a flight from USA to AUSTRALIA. He was very resistant at first. The Lord opened his heart and hours later he came to the Lord  in tears just as we were touching down at Mascot. He told me that his sister had been praying for him for thirty years! Praise God.

On the community bus : drivers and old people have decided to follow Jesus. One lady received the Lord and two weeks later was in the presence of God.

And “whoever” God sends across my path.

Can you imagine what it will be like when you go to Heaven and discover people there because you took the time to share the Gospel?

IF I CAN DO IT… SO CAN YOU!!

WHY DON’T YOU START TODAY?

All honour and Glory be to The Father, through Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, who does all things well.

Amen.

Prayer of salvation.

Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus. I am a sinner and in need of Salvation. I believe that you died for me and rose again from the dead.

I now invite you to save me from sin and live your life in and through me. Holy Spirit  fill and baptize me in your presence.

7.THE BOOK OF MARK.

SPEAKING IN TONGUES.

A Holy Experience!

PRAYING IN TONGUES.

1. Praying in tongues brings forth the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Read Romans chapter 8:26. Amplified Version.

This verse tells you to pray in the Spirit (tongues) during times of weakness. You may be so stressed that you can’t find the Words in English to express to the Lord how you feel.

The Holy Spirit will come to your aid and strengthen you, and He will pray to the Father for you with yearning and groanings too deep for utterance.

He will answer your prayers through Scriptures or directly into your mind. He will comfort you in your sorrow and teach you what to say and do in that time of trauma.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS YOUR COMFORTER.

Read John chapter

16: 2.

He will lead you to pray for others that need His Grace and make known to you what is happening.

2, Praying in Tongues brings forth fresh revelation of God’s plans for your future, for your life.

See 1 Corinthians chapter 4:2.

You do not speak to men but to God to guide you, because  no one can catch or understand His meaning, because in the Holy Spirit you utter truths and hidden things that are not obvious to your understanding.”

We are so quick to run to men for guidance instead of asking the Holy Spirit for His wisdom. You must not bypass God or His Word to find instructions or insight into your problem. We can do this by daily consistent prayer in the Holy Spirit. You then begin to catch His understanding of the deep things of God.

Jeremiah chapter 33:3.

Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you do not know.

Here in John is a wonderful promise for you to claim and live.

John chapter 16: 12-14.

The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth.

HE IS TRUTH, SO IS JESUS THE TRUTH!

Satan will lie to you directly, or through other well-meaning,  uninformed Christians. Your feelings can also lead you astray.

I am still learning this myself. It’s so easy to text or phone someone for help before praying first.

So, you pray in tongues because the answers from physical agents are often incorrect.

But the Holy Spirit will through your spirit and into your mind lead you into “all truth.”

Paul prayed that … “The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the God of Glory that He may grant you the Spirit of Wisdom and revelation into the deep knowledge of Him, that He will grant unto you  a spirit of wisdom to make His will known to you. He will fill your eyes of your heart so you can know the hope to which he has called you.

YOU ARE GRACED WITH WISDOM TO MAKE GODLY CHOICE’S.

That has to be of God!

3. PRAYING IN TONGUES EDIFIES YOU.

That means the Holy Spirit builds you up from within. You, in turn, build up the faith in others.

Building up yourself an others in the faith.

1 Corinthians chapter  14:4.

He strengthens, encourages, activates, stirs you up with power and authority. He leads people to Christ through you. He heals the sick and raises the dead. He gives you the boldness to preach the Gospel and cast out demons.

Not only that, the Holy Spirit will improve your memory so you can easily recall the scriptures. John 14:26 He does so much more.

Friends, the promise of the Holy Spirit is for you, your children and grandchildren. To all that call upon the Name of the Lord Acts 2: 39.

Oh, that you will receive the baptism  Holy Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:14.

Speaking in another language, the oracles of God.

HAVE YOU BEEN BLESSED with this yet another free gift? It is yours for the asking!

Amen.

“BLESS THE LORD OH MY SOUL” Psalm 103:1.

6.THE BOOK OF MARK.

SIGNS AND WONDERS,

-WILL FOLLOW THOSE WHO BELIEVE.

Through you the believer.

Last time in our mini-Bible study, we discussed how God uses people to spread the Good News of the Gospel.

We looked at the role of Evangelist and the Soul Winner and concluded that both are the same though having different titles.

Both have a burden and a passion to win souls.

Both are willing to make this a priority and will cast aside other desires to accomplish this end.

The Evangelist goes a step further than the Soul Winner and accomplishes this by doing it in a full time capacity. Whereas the soul winner may be employed in a secular job and works within those confines.

The Evangelist reaches crowds of people for Christ.

The Soul Winner tends to reach people in small groups and works on a one-on- one basis.

Both are gifted by the Holy Spirit and both are faithful to their calling. One is not more important than the other.

Today, we look particularly at verse seventeen, where it is prophesied that as the ”believer” you will see excellent signs and miracles that confirm the Gospel.

You, just an ordinary believer without credentials or letters after your name, can be used by God to perform miracles, signs and wonders in the Name of Jesus.

You believe that Jesus is active within you.

You are ‘Christ’ to the sick, the tormented and those who need salvation.

Salvation in Greek is interpreted as … “SOZO”meaning

SAVED, DELIVERED, HEALED AND PROSPERED.

It means that Jesus rescued us from the grip of Satan, who is out to totally destroy our lives. All this is a part of setting up God’s Kingdom on this earth.

I am a ‘believer’ and because God told me in this passage that He will do it through me, I have stepped out with fear and trembling (at first) and laid hands on the needy. I have been delighted to see miracles happen. I’m not a healer, nor an exorcist  (a deliverer of demons). I’m ‘little-ol-me’ stepping out into the unknown according to God’s Word by faith, knowing that: “Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the World.”

HE IS THE HEALER THROUGH YOU AND ME!

I am not sure why some people are not healed, but that doesn’t hinder my zeal or dampen my enthusiasm. All I know is God told me to share the Gospel and-

“HE ALSO WILL DO   IT!”

A CLOSER LOOK!

As  a believer (you) shall …

1. Cast out devils.

2. You will speak in languages you never learned.                      (My experience).

3. You shall be safe from the deadly venum of snakes and scorpions. (Paul was unaffected by a snake bite.)

PAUL UNHARMED FROM A DEADLY SNAKE BITE.

4. If you are compelled by your persecutor to drink deadly poison it will not harm you.

You shall lay hands on the sick (in Jesus Name) and they will recover. (Jesus Himself is the true example).

JESUS WILL HEAL THROUGH YOU!

So, as a believer you can through Jesus Christ accomplish all these things. But you have to exercise faith (take a risk). And step out of your comfort zone and do this.

Really, it should be normal Christian behaviour!!

You will feel an unction in your spirit to speak to this one or that one. Forget about yourself and think of that person is destined for Hell if you do not witness about Jesus.

Yes, you will mess up and fail due to nervousness and forget what you wanted  to say. That’s ok, If God used a donkey to speak to Balam he will speak through you.

THE TALKING DONKEY!

He, despite your faults, will honour His Word. Remember, He promised never to leave you or forsake you.

I made all kinds of foibles when I first began to soul win. Now it is easy as having a cup of tea!

If you step out to reach the lost, having a burden for them. He will put them in your face!!

It is a great privilege, and an excellent cure for depression, because you will be filled with joy when someone trusts the Lord.

Let me suggest that you start today. Please find the relevant verses and jot them down. Create your personal handout tract, including the prayer of salvation, and have it printed and hand it out to as many people as possible.

People are more ready to receive Christ today than ever before. Time is short!

The Great Commission is for you. So go out into your world and preach the Gospel, and I promise miracles will happen, and people will be brought out of the darkness into His marvellous light.

Amen.

5.THE  BOOK OF MARK.

THE PARABLES OF JESUS.

In His birth, Jesus changed the world with His incarnation. God became man. His death and resurrection changed eternity, securing a path for others to  enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

JESUS OPENS THE WAY TO GOD.

In his short public ministry, Jesus’s words also transformed humanity, challenging conventional wisdom, demonstrating servant leadership and calling upon His followers to establish a radical love to build God’s Kingdom on earth.

THE GOOD SHEPHERD.

Parables compose a significant share of Jesus’s words captured in the Gospels. He delivered His most memorable lessons through parables—terms such as

“The Good Shepherd.”

and the,

“Prodigal Son.”

have transcended religion and became terms that people of all faiths recognize.

WHAT IS A PARABLE?

According to the dictionary, parables are allegorical stories designed to convey a truth, spiritual principles, or a moral lesson. They are often engaging stories that contain few details, or moral lessons.

Parables have a place in Jewish storytelling. He used elements of daily life to illustrate a more profound message. In modern times Parables are almost associated with Jesus.

WHY DID JESUS USE THEM?

Because Jesus encountered so many different groups of people during His public ministry.

He spent time with His disciples, with Pharisees, with large crowds of strangers who were listening to Him for the first time.

Jesus wanted all men to understand His teachings, so He told stories that could draw in diverse crowds with different points of view.

With Parables, Jesus told stories that revealed the truth about God’s Kingdom while simultaneously challenging the standard worldview of those to whom He spoke.

HE STILL SPEAKS TODAY.

Just as Jesus Spoke to the crowds in His time on earth, He speaks to us today, challenging us to open our hearts to His message.

COMMON THEMES IN PARABLES.

Jesus referenced ordinary things that would resonate with his followers, using everyday concepts to draw in his audience.

He taught lessons to His followers through images of plants, vines, seeds and sowers of them. He shared Parables about family matters, dinner parties and weddings.

WHEAT AND TARES.

Many of the Parables Jesus shared touched on familiar themes, including:

LOVE. 💕

FORGIVENESS.

GOD’S KINGDOM.

I believe they are hugely relevant to you and to me, as all of God’s Word is life-changing. Parables speak differently to each of us in different ways and through various circumstances and at other times.

What are your favourites? (share them with me and the reason why.)

PRAYER.

Pray about everything, giving thanks.

REDEMPTION.

END TIMES.

The Gospels of Matthew and Luke contain the most Parables; no Parables are found in the Gospel of John.

ARE PARABLES RELEVANT TODAY?

PARABLE OF THE SOWER.

ALWAYS SOW INTO GOOD GROUND.

Here are some that stand out as well-known Parables. Jesus.

PARABLE OF THE TALENTS.

PARABLE OF THE PRODIGAL SON.

PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN.

THE PARABLE OF THE MUSTARD SEED.

Can you see that they are “Earthly stories with Heavenly meanings?”

As you take the time to read them, pray 🙏 as you read, and you will be surprised by what God reveals to you personally.

Prayer opens your heart ❤️ and mind to perceive what the Holy Spirit reveals just for you.

Always pray, Lord, CHANGE ME!!

Use me to bring,

“GOD’S KINGDOM ON EARTH.”🌎

Amen.

Atep out in Faith.

4.THE BOOK OF MARK.

THE GREAT COMMISSION.

Jesus having fulfilled all Scripture ascended into Glory.

Please read Mark chapter 16:15-20.

A commandment with a promise!

Jesus Christ, after his resurrection and just before His ascension, gave these instructions to his rather apprehensive and fearful disciples. If apprehended came the promises of miracles, signs and wonders.

This commission was not only for the disciples but certainly include us as Christian’s today.

One of our foremost mission as a follower of Christ is to share Jesus in “all that He is” and in “all that He can do” in and through us.

We share Him by how we live our lives and without using our vocal chords. “He is Lord.”

They will know that you’re a Christian by your life.

Our lives will portray His Gospel if we are truly sincere in our love for Him.

Our love for Him will motivate us to share Him with others.

Many believers in our church families do not live life as if they were followers of Jesus and this makes their evangelism superficial and can actually drive people away as they will see the hypocrisy and not want to embrace the Saviour.

A COMMAND!

Sharing the Gospel is  a direct command leaving us the responsibility to obey the Lord and Saviour by sharing Him with the lost.

Paul, the amazing apostle was,

“not ashamed” of the Gospel of Christ as it is the “Power of God unto Salvation.”

NO GO-NO LO!! Obedience to fulfil his command comes with the promise of Power, Presence and His work in and through you.

A FAITH WALK.

As we determine to step out in faith each day to share the Gospel He will be with us until this world comes to an end.

SOUL WINNER OR AN EVANGELIST? Actually they are the one and the same concept, but expressed  with different approaches.

“Soul Winner” as mentioned in Proverbs, “He that wins souls is wise.” Yet always keeping the thought in my mind that He, the Chief soul winner does the winning through me…

DEFINITION OF AN EVANGELIST.             An Evangelist is a preacher who is excited to tell, everyone about Someone who can save Anyone.

They love to travel the world and preach the Gospel in holding enormous crusades in many countries.

Thousands of people gather to hear the Gospel.

Dr Billy Graham is a  good example of a man who gave his total life in order to reach the Gospel. Millions of people came to Christ through his ministry. He believed in the fundamentals of Christianity,

Grace, Faith alone, Christ alone, the Word of God alone and for the glory of God alone.

Dr Billy Graham.

The word Evangelist is (noun) a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Synonyms are,

GOSPELER. GODS-SPELLER, and REVIVALIST.       Though we greatly admire Rev Billy we are also witnesses of Jesus Christ as we communicate the Gospel to those we already have relationship and inter-action.

A Biblical example of this would be the woman at the well who after an interaction with Jesus went into her community telling people what Jesus had done for her.

John 4:28-32.

She becomes the first woman Evangelist.

CHURCH EVANGELISM.

You should be involved in a church who evangelizes through  loving community of Christ followers.

The outsiders are often impressed by your witness and desire to join the Church family and eventually become  Christians.

Read Acts 8:5-8. People will see God is real and at work through His genuine people.

Church should be a place of Joy and happiness, love and care, giving and forgiving. Not a place of condemnation or judgment on how you may dress, act or speak. A place where the full Gospel is preached and people given an opportunity to be saved. A home to nurture, disciple people and love the Word of God. My heart hurts for souls who are lost, the hurting, brocken, grieving, empty and hopeless in this sin sick world. 🌎 People who need the Lord, not a set of rules and regulations.

WHAT IS MINISTRY EVANGELISM?

This is where we reach people who do not know the Gospel and are outside your normal relationships.

This is how you can reach them.

1. Pray that God would meet their deepest needs.

Pray before you say!

2. Help to meet a known need they feel is theirs.

3. Encourage them with by sending texts.

4. Invite them to something that is relaxing and fun, also to a meaningful meeting that will  alllow them room think. A meeting where they can share their opinions with ease.

Inviting a soul to enjoy Christian fellowship at a picnic.

5. Love them to Christ, put your self out to woo them into the arms of Jesus.

EVANGELISM IS A GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

It’s a gift you can ask for and He will surely grant it fully.

I have learned to totally depend on the Holy Spirit to … send the person to me. To work  through me in how I share Jesus.

(It is never the same.) And work in them by convicting and convincing of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

It’s the Holy Spirit that gives me the passion to see people rescued, healed restored and saved from hell and transported into the Kingdom of His dear Son.

You can’t do this in the natural (in your own strength) He brings real life and opens the heart ❤️ to receive Jesus as Lord.

The Word of God changes lives.

THE GREATEST JOY THAT SURPASSES ANY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE IS TO SEE A SOUL SAVED…HEAVEN REJOICES!!

Angels throw a party over one soul who comes to Christ.

If course you can count on Satan to stop you with all kinds of lies and excuses. In this ministry, fear is his greatest weapon. “The fear of man is a trap.”

Resist him in the name of Jesus. Never give up or give in to anxiety and fear. Be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord as your labour is never vain or wasted in the Lord.

You will have to count the cost of evangelism.

You may face rejection, abandonment, from friends,  and family

You may have to give your very life and those to whom you witness.

Pray for the boldness to, despite opposition, share the Gospel.

“THE RIGHTEOUS ARE  A TREE OF LIFE AND HE THAT WINS SOULS IS WISE.”

Let’s face it dear reader,

THE RESPONSIBILITY FALLS UPON YOU.

So, let’s step out in faith and obedience to the great commission and do it!

The time is short, the laborers are few and I sincerely promise you…

GREAT IS YOUR REWARD IN HEAVEN.”

Amen.

God is interested in one soul at at time.

May his message impact your life and cause you to share the Good News of the Gospel.

What a wonderful piece of art.

I have been led by God to minister in the Dementia ward in our local community hospital. Through a dear friend, I have learned how music can reach the spirit and open the mind to hear and receive the Gospel.

She brought her harp, played and sang Christian music to the residents. As she ministered, the anointing filled the room, and a precious blind lady invited Jesus into her life.

It is never too late, nor are people too sick or too old for God to break through their minds by the power of the Holy Spirit and save souls.

Thank you. H.D.
