2.THE BOOK OF PSALMS.

THE CURE FOR DEPRESSION.

PSALMS 42 and 43.

These psalms were originally composed as one psalm and later divided into two psalms.

The ‘one title’ covers them both. The sons of Korah were a family of Levitical singers. Korah himself was the great-grandson of Levi. David chose them to preside over the music of the Tabernacle tent situated on Mt Zion.

Read both psalms in one sitting and read them twice, then you will have a clearer understanding of how David suffered from depression … yet he found a joyful remedy for it. In both psalms, the subject almost seems the same. But what is most suggestive is the reoccurring of the refrain. This is my interpretation of it.

Not everyone reveals the downheartedness they feel.
Many people are exceptionally good at hiding their true feelings.

“OH MY SOUL, WHY ARE YOU CAST DOWN (depressed) WITHIN ME,

WHY WOULD YOU SINK INTO DEEP DESPAIR?

WAKE UP! GET UP!

KEEP TRUSTING IN GOD YOUR SAVIOUR.

NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY TO ME, OR WHAT HAPPENS TO ME, I WILL KEEP ON WAITING AND KEEP HOPING IN GOD.

I WILL PRAISE YOU OH LORD, THROUGH THIS DOWNCAST FEELING OF DESPAIR, AND HOW LOW I FEEL.

YOU, LORD, ARE THE “HEALTH” AND “HELP” OF MY COUNTENANCE AND MY GOD.”

This refrain comes in the middle of Psalm 42. Again at the end of this psalm and yet again at the end of Pslam 43.

The two psalms prescribe a ‘lovely cure’ for depression.

See the Psalmist’s diagnoses,”cast down” and “disquieted.” Now see him expose the causes and their symptoms.

Verses 1,2.

An interrupted communication with God. A misunderstanding by others.

Verse 3.

An unhealthy brooding over the past.

Verse 4.

Now see how he changes his thinking to receive an effective treatment and a recovery.

He experienced a new determination to “Remember God’s Glory and His Awesome Presence.”

Help is on its way.

Verse 5.

He, still feeling weighed down with a heavy burden calls to remembrance the Lord His God.

Verse 6.

His deep need calls out to the deep kindness of God’s love.

Verse 7.

It’s like drowning in anxiety, struggling for the next breath of peace!

THE SURE PROMISES OF GOD’S LOVE POUR OVER HIS BROCKEN HEART.

He is now beginning to remember afresh, GOD’S SYMPATHY, FAITHFULNESS, and HIS DIVINE PRESENCE.

Verse 8.

Then he resolves that he will PRAY THE MATTER THROUGH.

Verses 7-9.

He keeps reminding himself, not to be discouraged or disturbed. because God “will break through for him.”

THEN HE WILL HAVE PLENTY OF REASONS TO PRAISE HIM ALL OVER AGAIN!

For those of you dear ones who are at this stage in life,

“GOING IN AND OUT OF DEPRESSION.”

Finding the challenge almost unbearable.

Try not to lash out at people, blaming them for your inner conflict or frustration and irritation.

HOPE IN GOD!

Be an open book before Him.

Ask Him to change you where change is due.

Put your will into action.

“I WILL TRUST AND NOT BE AFRAID!”

Remain in CHRIST at all times, through all kinds of troubles and inner conflicts. Don’t be led down the path of despair by those lying emotions.

This is your PRESCRIPTION FOR INNER HEALTH!

HE IS PEACE AND CALMNESS OF SOUL.

FEAR GIVES GIVES WAY TO HOPE.

SIGHING GIVES WAY TO SINGING.

YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE PLENTY OF REASONS TO PRAISE HIM … OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

If you have a chemical imbalance as a reason for your depression, do not feel guilty or ashamed about taking medication until such time God heals you. (Ask the Lord to ‘bless’ your medication each time you take it.)

Find yourself a good Christian Dr who will guide you through these dark valleys into His Glorious Light.

1. THE PRECIOUS, PRICELESS   PSALMS.

PSALMS EXPRESSES WORSHIP.

Throughout its many pages, Psalms encourage us to praise the Lord God for who He is and what He has accomplished.

The Psalms illuminate the greatness of our God, affirm His faithfulness to us in times of trouble and remind us of the absolute centrality of His Holy Word.

The entire collection is thought to have been compiled over a period of a thousand years.

The Psalms are traditionally divided into five ‘books’ possibly to reflect the five books of the Torah.

The Torah consists of the books written by Moses.

Torah: meaning.

TEACHING, DIRECTION, GUIDENCE AND THE LAW.

  • Genesis.  Exodus. Leviticus.  Numbers and Deuteronomy.

We see two beautiful books of their structure.

1. Our position in relationship to our Lord.

2. Our expression of praise that concludes each book.

An example of this is evident in the first psalm.

Psalm One.

The man who is in a close relationship with God is the man who consistently meditates upon the Word of God, and prospers spiritually and in everyday life.

We see again in the lovely Shepherd’s Psalm, Psalm 23. Where David tells us we do not need to fear… because God is always near to us.

So we quickly sum up this five collection of books and conclude that in:

Book one: GOD IS BESIDE YOU.

Book two: GOD IS GOING BEFORE YOU.

Book three: GOD IS ALL AROUND YOU.

Book four: GOD IS ABOVE YOU.

Book five: GOD IS AMONGST YOU.

Dear reader, this is why you should start each day with a psalm on your mind. A song of praise in your heart. ❤️

Make an effort to read a psalm each day. Meditate and Memorize upon them they are sweeter than honey from the honeycomb. More Precious are they than gold. Yes, much fine gold.

A psalm a day keeps the devil away!

The Psalms will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

There are so many psalms in this poetic book of the Bible. Yet we cannot view each one separately, as the book is too wonderfully vast to comment on all that is recorded. So I chose just a few to share with you.

Many Christians find great consolation as they align themselves with the sheer honesty of the writers found here in the PSALMS.

INDIVIDUAL PSALMS.

Let us look at

PSALM 139.

The first twenty-four verses are divided into four “strophes” of six verses each. A strophe is a musical term for dividing verses, so they can be sung effectively. (as in verses and a chorus.)

In the first six verses of this scripture, we have the,

Divine OMNISCIENCE … (God is all-knowing.)

The first verse reads, “Oh Lord, You have searched “me” and known my heart.” The closing verse is the same prayer.”Search me oh God and know my heart.” The Omniscient God knows all of your heart, thoughts, actions and the words that you utter! Reread these verses with me.

MY HEART.        Verse one.

“Oh Lord You have searched me and known my heart.”

Your secret desires,  wants and needs and your motivations are known by God.

MY THOUGHTS. Verse two.

“You have understood my thoughts from a  great distance.” MATTHEW 9:4.

JOHN  2:24,25. (Afar off!)

MY ACTIONS. Verse three.

“You are acquainted with all my ways. (worries, fears, etc… and how I react to them.)

MY WORDS. Verse four.

“There  is not a word unuttered on my tongue that You do not know.”  Heb 4:13.

We are spiritually naked in His sight! Surely if He can read your lips, He can read your mind. (Jesus knew the minds of men.)

As the psalmist writes. “You have reigned me in.”

Meaning Entrapped me! Encircled me about! Again…

THIS COVERS THE WHOLE PERSON.

The inner and the outer life. This is a Divine reality, that God Himself is intricately interested in your individual life and every part of your being.

Here we have Divine OMNIPRESENCE  and it is expressed in five extremes.

How can this be when there are billions of people living in this world? Last count! Eight billion. Because He created you and wants to communicate with you as a father desires to know the minds of his children.

“SUCH KNOWLEDGE IS SO WONDERFUL, IT OVERWHELMS ME, I HAVE TROUBLE COMPREHENDING IT!”

Now read the second strophe, which covers the second set of six verses.

First, there is the extreme of HEIGHT!

“If I ascend into Heaven, You are there.” verse eight.

Then there is the extreme of DEPTH!

“If I make my bed in Sheol (place of the dead) You are also there.” Rom 11:33. (Please look up the references they are so poignant.)

To read more of His Divine presence in your life, keep reading from verses 9-12.

He is “everywhere” at the same time!

Next comes the two extremes. East and West, (Sunrise… Sunset) It reminds me of the verse that says…

“From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the Lord’s NAME is to be praised.”

HIGHT.

DEPTH.

EAST.

WEST.

LIGHT.

DARKNESS.

God is present in them all.

This should bring you ‘comfort.’ Only the Lord is ‘ever’ with you. You cannot hide from Him, nor can anyone hide Him from you!

Now we look at the third strophe covering the third six verses. Here we have, Divine,

OMNISCIENCE meaning (all-powerful.)

verses 13-18. The Psalmist speaks of the mystery of the human birth and life. Read it for your benefit.

The creation of man is the crown of creative achievement and the evidence of God’s power. As you ponder the power, the thought, the love, the care that God exercises toward man and each of us as individuals. Do not we join with David when he closes this strophe?

“How precious are your thoughts to me, oh God! How great is the number of them? If I were to count them, they would be in more numbers than the sand.”

Not only does He count the sand and know each tiny grain. He knows each hair upon your head and …

HE FEELS YOUR PAIN.

He knows all about you. So rest in Him, He loves you, delight yourself in Him and you will have the desires of your heart.

Now let’s reflect upon the Holiness of God, verse 19.

David has a real concern for those who sin against Him and in particular his sin. He wants a clean break with sin, altogether! That’s how we should feel about our sins.

l hate sinning and I keep very short accounts with God by repenting of each known sin.

We should pray, “Lord, keep me from sin and temptation. Please deliver me from the evil one.” (He is the one who causes us to sin, if we listen to him!)

Thinking about God in this Psalm should bring us to our knees humbling ourselves before Him.

Kneel before Him in prayer.

Why don’t we repeat the final verse with David to the Lord?

“Search me oh God and know my heart. Try me oh God and Know my thoughts, and see if there is anything else wicked in me.  Save me and lead me into everlasting  Life.” Through …

JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD,

Amen

Let every man give as he has purposed in his heart. For God loves a cheerful giver. Pray about supporting “light in the darkness ministry”

7.HAPPY EVER AFTER ENDING.

THE HEALING OF JOB.

THIS IS A TRUE STORY, NOT A FAIRY TALE!

Job is vindicated and restored, then he is rewarded by God.

You can be comforted to know that after your trial and suffering, there is a COMPENSATION and a REWARD.

It may not come in the present lifetime as Job’s did, but it will surely come. The Scriptures say,

“SURELY THERE IS AN END AND YOUR EXPECTATION SHALL NOT BE CUT OFF.”

We have the soon return of the Lord Jesus and the promised Millennium Kingdom.

Then God rebukes Job’s three comforters.

Read chapter 42:7-17

These men almost destroyed Job’s soul.

In Job 3:2 it tells us that Job “sinned not with his lips”

But after they had judged him from a  misrepresentation of God, poor Job was driven to sin with his lips.

I have experienced that a number of Christians in the Name of the Lord can be used by Satan to cause you to doubt God and His leading for your life.

How many maligned Pastors have given up and left the ministry broken and defeated by the tongues of men…I’m sorry to hear that many innocent men of God are not fulfilling the call that God put within their hearts due to gossip and the bitter judgement of self-righteous Christians.

Stop! Right now, you are doing the work of the devil. Don’t say … pray, pray!

If there is a problem with Your leader. You go to your brother alone, not to other people to destroy his reputation.

If you cannot reconcile the difference in what you see or believe with the Pastor then find another church and leave with a blessing. God may be moving you on so you can be more effective for the Lord somewhere else.

Allow the Holy Spirit to convict and convince him of sin. He will do complete work and continue to use him for the glory of God. Please love and support your pastor, his wife, and his family. If you cannot, then move on.

If God leads you to stay in your church, be loyal, loving, forgiving and encouraging. Then God will bless your life.

How do l know this?

Because my dear husband, a Pastor, died in the middle of a church split!

They analysed Job to find their reason for his suffering, then left him in condemnation and despair. Job was totally alone without any support.

Yet through deep depression and anxiety, Job hung in there. God Himself finally came to his rescue.

See James chapter 5:1-11.

“YOU HAVE HEARD THE PATIENCE OF JOB, AND SEEN THE END OF THE LORD .”

We are meant to see beyond him to God,

WHO IS VERY COMPASSIONATE AND FULL OF MERCY. GOD IS INDEED RULER OVER EVERYTHING EVERYONE, INCLUDING SATAN!

Job is transformed, restored, and vindicated. Note, this happened ‘after’ he prayed for his three accusers. He had to humble himself and forgive these cruel-tongued men.                            (There was no room in his heart for bitterness and resentment.)

HE DOES COME FORTH AS GOLD ‘TRIED IN THE FIRE.’GOD CALLS HIM, “MY SERVANT.”

This is a vindication for him in all areas of his life especially the physical. He could breath in fresh pure air, instead of his own “stench.”

There was “no pain.” His skin was as beautiful as that of a “young child.”

JOB WAS SPIRITUALLY, MENTALLY, AND PHYSICALLY HEALED!!

GOD PROSPERED JOB AND GAVE HIM DOUBLE FOR HIS TROUBLE!”

See chapter 24:10-17

First, his family and friends gathered around him and gave him money and an eating of gold.

Secondly, he had fourteen thousand sheep and one thousand cattle. A thousand female asses.

He had also seven sons and three daughters. His daughters were stunningly beautiful and were the most gorgeous in the land.

He lived one hundred and forty years and saw four generations of his sons.

He died, being old and full of days. (very satisfied)

What do you think of that satan. You accuser of Christians?

With Jesus, we always win!!

Everything that satan had stolen God returned twofold (except his wife!) We do not understand what she went through. So let us not judge her.

What must you do in your trials and tribulations?

TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND LEAN NOT UPON YOUR UNDERSTANDING. IN EVERYTHING YOU DO PUT HIM FIRST AND HE WILL CROWN YOUR EFFORTS WITH SUCCESS.

He was blessed with many children.

Proverbs chapter 3:5,6.

“REST IN THE LORD AND WAIT PATIENTLY FOR HIM. HE WILL ALSO BRING IT TO PASS.”

Read PSALM 37:1-6. It surely will encourage you of … HOW GOOD IS OUR GOD.

So rest, believe the Word and trust the Lord and eventually, all things will work together for good for those who love the Lord and are the called according to his purpose.

Romans chapter 8:28.

Amen.

THE MINISTRY AND MY CALLING.

To those of you who support this ministry and those of you who are praying about supporting me, l thought l would give you a more detailed account of what l do.

First of all, there are my weekly blogs. There is also evangelism in my community. I am blessed to see a soul saved on an average of once every fortnight. ( God is the soul winner) l need to obtain Bibles and information to help them to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord. Then there is the cost of Gospel tracts that are handed out.

My newly rented house is where people come for Salvation, Hope and Healing. (Jesus still heals today.)

The sign at my old house is now facing the road on a tree.

Also, I am writing a book. The next need is to cover the costs of new phones and iPads. And technical help when things go wrong, which happens often. That happens every two or three years. I spend approximately $200:00 per month on this vital ministry.

Now, a visitation team visits the elderly, the sick, and the lonely in a local nursing home, as well as isolated individuals in their own homes.

Furthermore, l am a widowed Senior Pensioner and the pension does not cover my expenses. I know we are living in hard times and the cost of living is so high.

All l ask you to do is pray and seek the Lord’s guidance as to supporting me. This is God’s great ministry and I’m sure He will truly bless you as you partner with me. Thank you for your consideration. Heather Dalzell.

6. THE VOICE FROM THE WORLDWIND!

GOD HIMSELF SPEAKS!

Chapter 38-41. (Please take time to read it.)

I think of the verse that says.

“THE LORD IS IN HIS HOLY TEMPLE.               LET ALL EARTH BE SILENT BEFORE HIM.”

In this instance when God speaks, the five men are struck dumb with awe at the sound of his voice. It was …

“LIKE THE SOUND OF MANY WATERS,”    breaking forth upon them from the whirling air.

The first thing we notice that God does not give Job an explanation for his suffering.                           Nor does He argue with Job.                                       He does not humiliate Job, yet Job is humbled by Gods Powerful, Wise and Wonderful Words.

There are some things about human suffering that God cannot possibly explain to us without destroying the very purpose for which they are designed.

God was well aware and concerned about what Job was going through.          He was with him in His Divine love and care.

He always keeps His Promises.

He was ever watching, hearing, caring for and waiting for the right time to deliver him.                           Soon Job would realise this with sudden vividness and learn how wrong his friends were in their accusations.

God had Job, as He has you on his mind when He demonstrated His Grace upon the Cross of Calvary, through Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord.

HE DEARLY LOVES YOU, WHOEVER YOU ARE, AND HOW VILE YOU HAVE BECOME. SALVATION IS OPEN TO YOU.

Have you identified with Job and come to the point where you can rest upon God Himself, apart from an explanation from Him?

You need to trust God in the Dark.

Trust Him when the storm is raging.

When you think you are exhausted from people’s opinions about you.

You can trust Him though you are,

Judged wrongly,

Contradicted,

Ridiculed,

Misunderstood,

Blamed and analysed by the opinions of men.

Even your philosophical reasoning must be put aside.

God in Christ suffered for us all.

Be real as Jesus was real. There were times He spoke and times He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, So … “He opened not his mouth.”

“THE JUST FOR THE UNJUST.”

“YOU ARE THE  RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM.” (Christ Jesus)

Finally, God’s discourse was to bring Job to the End of himself.               To the end of his own:

Self-Righteousness!

Self-Vindication!

Self-Wisdom!

Self-Everything!!

WHY?

THAT HE MIGHT FIND HIS ‘ALL IN GOD.’

Please read,             Chapter 40:1-5.                 Job declares,

“Lord, I will shut my mouth! “Now I see and I have uttered what l didn’t understand.”

Dear reader, where do you fit in this story?

What do you need to change in your life?             Sometimes we mouth off things that are beyond us, just to get attention.

THE LORD SAID, “OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND
I WILL FILL IT..” LAY THAT TONGUE ON THE ALTAR OF SACRIFICE.

We are to choose:

When to speak.

How and what to speak to other people.

Go on about Jesus!   Exhube the Joy of the Lord. He is your strength.

Don’t go on and on about your illness or problems to everyone you meet …

Then you will hear Him speak to you. He is speaking all the time.

It is sin that blocks His voice so you cannot hear.

If you do not you will hear another voice, the voice of guilt, condemnation, blame and shame. You hear the voice of the accuser who in the beginning of this true story accused Job.

Listen carefully.

I am not saying that you can’t tell someone about your pain, sorrow and desperation. We need to speak to trusting friends so they can pray for us. We all need a shoulder to cry on.

So don’t be a religious martyr and pretend that everything is, ‘Fine and Dandy’ “Well praise the Lord.”

Oh, Jesus, I am sorry for my sin. Come into my life and save me, heal me and deliver me from the evil one. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM AND THE POWER AND THE GLORY, FOREVER, AMEN.

Pray for wisdom to know to whom you can open up and bare your soul and cry your tears.

Your attitude speaks louder than your words.

Regarding the handling of those who are sick with sin and are reaping the consequences. Love them, be patient and let the Holy Spirit do His perfect work of redemption, restoration and healing.

Be quick to apologise.

Be slow to get angry.

“Because anger works not the righteousness of God.”

David the Psalmist prays.

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength, my Redeemer.”

Amen and Amen.

Hello, my prayer and support partners. God is at work in these last days. Souls are being saved and mentored in His Word. People are coming back to the Lord of Glory from sin and backslidden lives.

Please keep praying for this ministry and if God puts me on your heart for financial support l would be forever grateful.

You can do this by giving through my bank card or obtaining my bank credentials privately.

Rich blessings upon you.

5.ELIHU’S ADVICE TO JOB. (A New Voice.)

THE YOUNGEST IN THE GROUP.

ELIHU.

He is the youngest man in the group. He has ceased speaking because of the seniority of the others. His speech which fills no less than six chapters has a:

NEW PERSPECTIVE.

A NEW APPROACH.

NEW APPEAL.

A NEW ANSWER.

Chapters 32-37.

Elihu suggests that wisdom does not come with age, but through Inspiration of God. chapter 32:9. Inspiration comes to anyone who seeks the mind of God.

Job is longing to have someone to mediate between God and himself. Elihu believes “He is the one”

He boldly states, “I am here in God’s place” Chapter 33:6.

The other comforters were judgemental whereas Elihu wanted to be a brother.

“But God is greater than man so He does not need to explain Himself. Yet he will speak to you if you will listen!”

Chapter 33:14-15. When God chastises, it is with a view to: HEAL AND RESTORE!

God is RIGHTEOUS AND IMPARTIAL!

Chapter 34:10-19. He is Perfect in Discernment and yet some of his ways are mysterious.

Suffering is not necessarily a punishment for past behaviour, but CORRECTIVE!

There are things you can do to change the way you behave. “As a man thinks so is he.”

God comes to restore you and He acts with,

ABSOLUTE RIGHTEOUSNESS.

IMPARTIALITY.

AND DISCERNMENT.

You can ask God “why”? Jesus did so on the cross.

But you cannot demand an answer from Him. He is greater than man so He does not require to explain Himself to us at all.

Elihu appeals for absolute patience. Tell God how you feel and be patient and wait for Him so you can learn.

Chapter 35:15.

We must have faith in God Himself, rather than to have an explanation from Him.

This is true Wisdom. God is All Knowng and All Righteous. You must believe that before you can trust Him. Chapter 36:5.

“TOUCHING THE ALMIGHTY, WE CANNOT FIND HIM OUT; HE IS EXCELLENT IN POWER AND JUDGEMENT AND PLENTEOUS IN JUDGEMENT AND JUSTICE.”

HE WILL NOT WILLINGLY AFFLICT MEN.

LET MEN THEREFORE FEAR HIM.”

It gets down to this. Faith in God is better than an explanation. You must trust him first, that’s what faith is all about. Believing though you can’t see.

Do you trust God though you do not understand?

Or are you like Job contending with God demanding answers to things you don’t understand?

Let us,

“STAND STILL AND QUIETLY WAIT AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD!”

Remember dear one who is suffering and you know the Lord. Satan is the cause of sin and when we make decisions that are out of God’s will. There are consequences. The moment you stop questioning Him and trust Him instead, He will take control. Put yourself on the altar of sacrifice, and give it all to Jesus.

The keyword for you is the word Surrender!

He will make a way of escape so you can bear it. In His wisdom and time He will always give you a safe landing place. Oh precious one He dearly loves you.

I prophesy this over you. “THERE IS AN EXPECTED END.”

If you need help, don’t go to the world to find it. Go to God, and be guided by His Word.

The Counsellor, the one called alongside to help you has the Authority and Power to deliver you from the grip of the evil one. That’s why Jesus shed His precious blood on the cross of Calvary.

“IF THE SON WILL MAKE YOU BE FREE. YOU WILL BE FREE INDEED.”

Amen.

4. THE BOOK OF JOB.

JOB’S THREE SO CALLED FRIENDS.

JOB’S COMFORTORS ELIPHAZ, BILDAD and ZOPHAR.

These men were older than Job.

Job 32:6.

They had travelled a long distance to console Job, but that consolation turned into condemnation,              so it aggravated Job’s suffering to the point of unendurable stress.

Let’s look a little closer at these three friends and later the fourth who is much younger.

ELIPHAZ.

He was the eldest and wisest of the three. He is the philosophical one who based what he believed on his supernatural illumination with visions and wisdom handed down from his descendants.      He based all arguments upon his personal’experience’

He assured Job from his observations, that suffering is a direct result of personal sin and God’s judgement upon it.

Chapter 4:8.

Please read the reference.

He outwardly denounced Job that his suffering was a result of his hypocrisy and that is the reason why he lost everything!

BILDAD.

His speeches occur in

Chapters. 8,18, and chapter 25.

They do not have the same air of courtesy as those of Eliphaz. Bildad’s philosophy of life is based upon his own life’s traditions.                  He looked at what “appears” to be right, for example, the death of Job’s three children was the result of God’s Divine judgment for their sin. (How cruel.)      He concluded that it must be so for Job.

He implied that Job couldn’t be “pure and upright.”

Note that in this speech, there are three ‘ifs’ that mark how Bildad loved to reason things out…

‘If’ Job was intelligent then God would not throw away a perfect man! He said, “You’d be full of joy and laughter, ‘if’ you were such a man.”

He became fiercer in his conclusion of Job and asked indignant personal questions.

‘If’ the stars cannot be pure in His sight, then how can you?”  Job never claimed that he was without sin, but only that his sins were not the cause of his trouble. He calls Job a hypocrite!

ZOPHAR.

Chapter 11. He is more drastic than either Eliphas or Bildad. Maybe because Job had answered his innocence with increasing tenacity. Zophar’s opening words denote he was already aggravated.

Chapter 11:2,3               His speeches are full of assumptions; he has no sense of reason. He was condemning Job from the moment he first gave an opinion. He judged Job as having “no substance to his words.”

“Job, your words are empty, full of hot air, you presume too much.”

“You are not clean and pure as you make out, you are steeped in SIN and deserving of God’s Judgement.                        You must repent.”

“You, Job are suffering the portion of a WICKED MAN.”

Putting together these three opinions of:

ELIPHAZ.

BILDAD.

ZOPHA.

We conclude that they are saying to Job.

“God prospers the upright and punishes the wicked.”

Job replied that his own experience proved their argument defective.

For he was ‘upright yet afflicted’!

ELIPHAZ insisted that “ONLY THE WICKED SUFFER.”

BILDAD insisted that the WICKED ‘ALWAYS’ SUFFER!

ZOPHAR insisted that “WICKED LIVES ARE CUT SHORT!”

We know that it is not only the wicked who suffer: but the righteous who suffer as well.

“Not always do the wicked suffer, but some escape altogether. Some wicked people actually prosper.

So the four men end up in a deadlock because Job protested his innocence all along.

Job knew he was a sinner for all men are sinners. He had been conscientiously upright according to the light given to him and he was utterly sincere in his protestation.

The verdict of God Himself comes down on Job’s side which we will discuss further along.

We still have to hear another voice as well as God’s to bring the debate to a majestic finale.

Now if you are suffering from a long-term illness or a diagnosis.                   Please don’t live under condemnation from yourself or someone else.

Listen to God’s Word.

“YOUR SINS AND INIQUITIES  WILL I REMEMBER NO MORE.”

KNOW ALSO THAT HIS PURPOSES ARE HIGHER THAN YOURS!

JUST TRUST HIM!

He has the power to heal all those who come to Him as the Healer.                        He is not punishing you.  Sometimes, the consequences of our wrong choices cause our bodies to break down, leading to ill health.                                        He loves you so much that He gave His only begotten Son to suffer in your place.

He died so you can have the abundant life he promised.                                       Some loyal beautiful Christians are in horrific pain and some Godly people die in pain and they are righteous before God.

If you take the side of these three men you become a self-righteous,  judgemental Christian.

You become a Pharisee!

Let’s hold on to one sure thing for those of you who are in Christ and are suffering from sickness and disease.                     God has not abandoned you, nor will He ever forsake you.                                  He promises this in the Book of Hebrews.  Chapter 13:5b

God Himself has said, “I will not in any way fail you or give  up on you, nor leave you without support. (I will not in any degree leave you helpless or forsake you, let you down, or relax my hold on you. – assuredly not!)

Hey, what a wonderful promise for any adverse circumstance.

NO ONE HAS EVER SUFFERED PAIN AS JESUS SUFFERED.

OH THE DEPTH AND THE RICHES OF HIS LOVE TOWARD US.

HE UNDERSTANDS YOU AND LOVED YOU UNTO DEATH.

HE IS WITH YOU AND IF YOU DO NOT GET HEALED THE WAY YOU EXPECT OR HOW OTHERS EXPECT.  REST IN HIS FINISHED WORK FOR ‘YOU.’

LEAVE ALL THE HOWS, WHENS, AND WHERES, IN HIS CAPABLE HANDS.

YES, HE WANTS HEAL YOU ON THIS EARTH.  YOUR HEALING MAY COME  IN A WAY YOU DON’T  EXPECT.

TRUST HIS PROMISES. SATAN IS THE DESTROYER,  GOD IS THE HEALER.

HE PAID THE PRICE WITH HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD AND BY THE WOUNDS THAT WOUNDED HIM YOU “WERE” HEALED 2Peter 1:24

Put your faith in His finished work and take no notice of your diagnosis or your symptoms. They may be factual but not the truth. Rebuke the powers of darkness and by faith move toward your wholeness.

HEAVEN. Where there is no sickness, pain, or sorrow. Where He wipes away all the tears from your eyes.

Believe that “as it is in Heaven so it is on Earth.” He “has” forgiven all your iniquities and healed all your diseases. Read Psalm 103: 1-5.

Ask Jesus to save you and forgive all your sins and give you the power to trust Him with whatever He allows into your life.

He will, save and heal you. I promise you.

SO DON’T LOSE FAITH, KNOWING THAT … “SHALL NOT GOD OF ALL THE EARTH DO RIGHT.”

Amen.

JESUS’ HEALING IS UNLIMITED.

3. THE BOOK OF JOB.

THE SEVERE TEST THAT CAME UPON JOB.

THE STORY SO FAR.

We have established that this trial was not from God Himself but allowed by God. It was indeed the work of Satan.

1. The first tragedy. The Sabeans swooped down and captured his donkeys and oxen while they were grazing together. Then they slew all the servants and only one man survived to tell the news. He was covered in bleeding wounds and barely could speak.

THE SABEANS RAID JOB’S CATTLE

2. As he was speaking to Job, another man arrived. He was deathly pale and in shock. He said,

“The lightning of God fell from the heavens, burned all the sheep, and consumed all the servants who were keeping them, and I alone have escaped.’

As he spoke he was violently shaking and almost fainted. Job’s men helped him safely to the ground.

3. On his heels another servant arrived and as he was coming he shouted.

The Chaldeans divided themselves into three bands and attacked the camp, took all the camels and slew the servants with the edge of the sword.”He paused… “None remain.”

Tears began to flow as his own children were slaughtered in the raid. He alone had escaped.

THE CHALDEANS PLANNED TO STEAL JOB’S CAMELS.

4. Job was stunned by this disastrous news.  “Oh God, What else?”

5. As Job was wondering if anything else could happen. Another servant arrived.   This man had clothed himself in sackcloth and ashes for mourning. It was obvious he had been weeping. His eyes were red and swollen.

He fell off his camel in severe grief. As he was laying on the ground Job ran to him.

“My Son what is it, what has happened?”

The distraught servant pulled himself together and cried,

“Job, it’s your children, your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine at their eldest brother’s house and a great whirlwind came and utterly destroyed the four corners of the house and it collapsed upon the young people and all are dead!”

JOB’S RESPONSE.

Upon hearing this tragic news. Job numbed… silently sat and spoke not a word.

Then he stood and tore his clothes and shaved his head, then fell on the ground and worshipped. Yet, there was not a trace of anger or bitterness in his tears.

The best and hardest time to praise and worship the Lord is in the midst of undeserved suffering and pain. You do it because it is the right thing to do, even when everything within you fights against it. Giving thanks is an act of the will.

Then he said,

“Naked (without possessions), I came into this world.

And naked (without possessions) I shall depart.”

“The Lord gave and now He takes them away.”

“I Bless (in worship)  praise and magnify the name of the Lord”

AMID ALL THIS TRAUMA, JOB SINNED NOT WITH HIS MOUTH. HE CEASED  BLAMING GOD FOOLISHLY.

Next, we read of another discussion between God and the adversary.

God is proud of Job’s response saying that Job in all his grief has held onto his integrity (virtue and goodness) and had not charged God foolishly.

God permitted satan to attack Job’s health then surely he would curse and renounce God.

Read Chapter 2:5-7.

So satan the destroyer, the murderer added to Job’s misery by causing huge, infected painful sores to appear all over his body ( boils, abscesses or maybe leprosy.)

How utterly cruel.

You may be also suffering from some dreadful disease causing severe pain and suffering from a different ailment.

KNOW THIS!

GOD IS THE HEALER!  SATAN IS THE DESTROYER!

Try not to mix them up.

God manifested Himself on this earth in the person of Jesus Christ.

Jesus healed the sick and opened blind eyes and deaf ears.

The crippled and the lame walked.

The deaf heard, the dumb spoke.

No disease could avoid His Mighty power or the sound of his voice.

Even the dead were raised to life again.

And no demon of hell could usurp His authority.

Then on the cross, he bore every sickness and disease, infection, and illness known to men.

AND BY THE WOUNDS THAT WOUNDED HIM …  WE ARE HEALED!  Isaiah chapter 53:1-5.

You need to believe that Jesus “has” healed you. Take no notice of symptoms, keep rebuking them in the Name of Jesus, and they will gradually decrease.

You can be healed today.

Believe that He shed His precious blood for your sin. Then put your faith in what he bore for you on that cross of Calvary.

Ask him to Save your soul. Deliver you from the evil one and Heal your body.

He heals through Medical  Science and nutrition. He can heal you Supernaturally.

He also wants to deliver you from the power of the evil one. From the occult, witchcraft, sorcery, additions, false religions, mental illnesses … All kinds of habits that satan uses to destroy you. And from all sins of immorality. Jesus came to set the prisoner free.

When He rose from the dead, He made all this possible if you will believe in His finished work and make Him your Lord,  Healer, and Saviour.

WITH JESUS YOU ARE NOT A VICTIM … YOU ARE A SURVIVOR!

Wait upon Him … Don’t give up. Have faith and He will do it! Nothing is impossible with Him.

Amen.

And He will heal you!

2. THE BOOK OF JOB.

THE DIALOGUE BETWEEN GOD AND SATAN.

THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN.

Satan is permitted, though limited, to sift or test the Lord’s People.

In Rev 12:1.

Satan is standing before God as the ACCUSER of the BRETHREN!

A Depiction of satan.

Here are more scriptures concerning his power to test us as Christians.

Love you to read them!

Eph 6:6-18.

Luke 22:31,32.

1 Cor 5:5.

1Tim 1:20.

2Tim 2: 26.

Note who your real enemy is … Not people! though he uses some of them, but the…

POWERS of DARKNESS.

Jesus exposes Satan’s plan to Peter to sift him as wheat, but note that Jesus also said

“BUT I HAVE PRAYED FOR YOU THAT YOUR FAITH WILL NOT UTTERLY FAIL.”

He also intercedes for you! So the primary explanation of Job’s trial is that Satan was the instigator and the producer of Job’s suffering.

SATAN IS ACCOUNTABLE TO GOD.

He did not have free access to come and go into God’s presence at will. He was compelled to come when God commanded it so. Satan was subject to Divine Authority, however unwillingly.

The Sons of God “came to present themselves before God.”

It shows that the Dark Mind of Satan is an open book to God. God is all-knowing!

God asked Satan questions about his travels and Job His Servant.

Satan knew that nothing was hidden from God. Here we see that Satan challenges God.

He accuses God of having a hedge of protection around Job from the Lord.

GODS HEDGE OF PROTECTION.

He snarles,

“Take away your protection, then Job will deny you. Why? Because Job only trusts you, because you prosper him.”

Satan was attacking God’s faithfulness, His Integrity, His Goodness and Mercy. Also, he cursed Job’s Motivation for loving and compliance toward God.

It is good to know that, God also knows ‘all’ that is in his mind about you. Be also happy that He has a hedge of protection around you.

Satan cannot do anything to harm you unless God allows it. If He does allow an attack, it will eventually work for the ultimate good of yourself and bring glory to God.

Satan never wins! What is that hedge of protection? Or, who is the hedge? It is…

JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

So we must know that Satan is behind the evil curses on this earth. You can relax to learn that Satan is neither:

‘All Powerful’ or ‘Ever Present.’

He is not everywhere at the same time. He may move with lightning rapidly, but cannot be in two places at one time.

He is a ‘created Being’ and therefore a ‘local being,’

He is not the same as God though he would love that. Look what he said to Jesus in the Geat Tenptation in the wilderness.

“Bow down and worship me”

l love Jesus’ reply,

“Worship God and Him only.” Satan is not continually ‘on your back’. He cannot be in Australia and Africa simultaneously. Yes, he uses demons to carry out his will. They are so powerful that it feels like the Devil himself is personally attacking you.        But, you have the power to cast out demons from yourself and other people.

You do this in the name of Jesus, by His shed blood and through the power of His Word, also by your testimony of Christ-likeness.

I have seen many demonised people set free from the grip of satan. This comes from the power of the Holy Spirit and a repentant seeker.

We are told to resist him and he will flee!. First, we must Submit! Be subject to God, and surrender every part of your life to Him. Then …

“STAND FIRM AGAINST THE DEVIL. RESIST HIM AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU.”

James 4:7.

Satan can indeed take possession of the human mind, as he did that of Judas but only to those who give him an open door. Satan is ‘not’ God. He can only do what God allows. So now he cannot do anything without Divine permission.

AS YOU REMAIN IN CHRIST, GOD WILL AGAIN AND AGAIN DELIVER YOU FROM, AND OVERRULE THE ACCUSER’S DECISIONS.

Allow me to remind you of your position in Christ.

JESUS CONQUERED SIN, DEATH AND HELL. WHEN HE CRIED WITH THE VOICE OF AUTHORITY …

“IT

IS FINISHED!”

THE EVIL LION, SATAN BECAME A DEFEATED FOE.

THE VICTORY WAS AND IS WON! ONCE AND FOR ALL ETERNALLY.

HALLELUJAH! AMEN! THANK YOU PRECIOUS JESUS, YOU DID THIS FOR ME AND ALL WHO WILL BELIEVE AND PUT THEIR TRUST IN YOU.

THEN JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD AND BROUGHT RESURRECTION LIFE TO ALL WHO WOULD COME.

In Christ, you dear reader can have the protection that Job could not. You are in Him and He is in you. So the power and authority has been given to you to overcome his attacks upon you, your family and others.

You are more than a conqueror through Him who loves you so.

Now stand firm.

Be obedient.

Be prayerful.

Be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Read God’s Word daily.

Tell others about your new-found faith without reservation.

Then God’s protection is YOURS!

AMEN.

One Flick and he’s Gone!

1. THE BOOK OF JOB.

VIEWING TRIALS THROUGH THE LIFE IF JOB.

This is a quote by Alfred Edeshein that will lead us into the study of the life of Job.

“We cannot understand the meaning of many trials, God does not explain them.”

“To explain a trial would be to destroy the object … which is that calling forth of simple faith and implicit obedience.”

Dear reader, ponder upon these thoughts as we look at the life of Job and as we face the ever-present problem.

“The Mystery of Suffering” but especially as it concerns the Godly.

The object of this book is to show that there is a benevolent Divine Purpose running through the sufferings of the godly and to realise that we don’t know all the facts.

If Job had known all that went on in Heaven before his trial and if he could have known the outcome of his ordeal as God foreknew it.

How differently would he have reacted to it all?

JOB DID NOT KNOW! Neither did his friends!

We also need to know and understand that for us in our continuous trials, there is a purpose for them in the counsels of Heaven and a foreknown outcome of blessing. If Job had known, there would be no place of faith; and the man would never come forth as …

‘Gold purefied in the 🔥 fire.’

God in His wisdom holds back some of the reasons for the moment, so your faith will develop ‘in’ the trial, and then in the future, a ‘fuller revelation’ will be revealed. As l said earlier. Job did not know and was not meant to know.

During your trial and heartache, there is a place where you can find peace and rest because you can know that beyond lies your reason, an ‘afterwards’ of…

GLORIOUS ENRICHMENT AND REVELATION.

Let’s learn at this earlier stage that Job’s trial was not a PUNISHMENT yet CORRECTIVE.

Not RETRIBUTIVE but loving DISCIPLINE.

Not a PENALTY but a MINISTRY.

If we knew why God allows this or that trial, it would cease to be a trial of either faith or obedience.

There are things you will experience but if you believe and wait for God to reveal His purposes there is Blessing through your Suffering.

Through bitter calamity comes blessed discovery Self is slain and God becomes your..

DEAR FATHER AND YOUR VERY BEST FRIEND!

This is the time when many people give up on God and blame Him for the adversity that is upon them.

This verse in Hebrews 12:11 has a fuller meaning for you if you will receive it.

“NO CHASTENING FOR THE PRESENT SEEMS JOYOUS, NEVERTHELESS. AFTERWARDS, IT PRODUCES THE PEACEFUL FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, UNTO THEM WHO ARE WILLING TO BE TAUGHT BY THEM.”

Beyond your suffering is a HIGHER PURPOSE of God. And beyond it, there is an:

‘AFTERWARDS OF GLORIOUS ENRICHMENT’

Doesn’t that fill your heart with blessing? This makes a big difference for me as I endure Fibromyalgia pain all the time. I believe in the sure promises of God for total healing without a shadow of a doubt.

Do you really believe that Jesus bore all your sickesses and diseases on the cross?

The big question that true believers who have prayed in every way possible and yet still suffering their illness is…

Why do the good die young?

Why do the righteous suffer?

Why did God take my husband or wife or child and leave me alone?

Why Cancer?

Why this abuse?

Why, why, why??

Beloved there are answers to these questions. Let’s find them as we spend the next weeks looking at the life of Job.

Hang in there my friend, don’t turn your back on God.

Keep seeking the Lord.

I am sure He has an answer just for you. You will find peace, joy, and hope when you fully trust in Him.

Why?

Because He loves you dearly.

Amen.

If you are led of the Lord to be a part of this outreach ministry, there are some things you can do.

PRAY that the messages will reach people across this world.

SHARE YOUR BLOGS. You can do this through Messages, Email, and word of mouth. On Google, there is a share button you can press.

GIVE of your finances. There is so much I can do in spreading the Good News of the Gospel. There is a need for money to cover the printing of tracts. Purchasing Bibles for new believers. Printing and marketing of my book, which is almost written. The cost of new phones and iPads, as well as the ongoing expenses of technology to keep everything running smoothly.

Rich blessings to all of you who consistently read the blogs.

Blessings from Heather.

7. Esther’s Final Plea.

ESTHER APPEALS TO THE KING.                                                                               Now the Queen had asked the Jews to fast and pray for her, as she, unsummoned, would present herself before the king. Fasting is a symbolic form of prayer in the Old Testament.

She was throwing herself at the mercy of the King in this matter. On the third day, Esther slowly, cautiously, gracefully once more entered the inner court of the Palace.

Then she paused and stopped at the gate opposite the king’s throne room, then waited for the king to notice her.

The King sat at his throne, gazing down the pillared Vista deep in thought. Then with surprise and somewhat delight, the graceful figure of his beautiful young wife meets his gaze once more.

He immediately extended his golden scepter (a symbol of authority) toward her.

“What is it, my precious Queen, why have you come before me?”

He could sense a need in her lovely eyes. Kindly, he said. “I will give you half of the Kingdom.”

She had obtained his favour and generosity. She breathed a silent sigh of relief and began to relax.

Her final plea was to request that the King reverse Haman’s edict to slaughter her beloved people, the Jews.

The King immediately took action. The edict was cancelled and reversed. Mordecai took Haman’s place and Mordecai now wore Haman’s ring of authority and the King put all the responsibility into his hands.

Are you afraid to come before the King of Kings and make your requests known?

Here is some excellent news! We have a great High Priest who has ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God. He is our golden sceptre of favour and approval.

He understands your weaknesses, infirmities and temptations. So you can come ‘Boldly’ into the throne of His Grace and receive mercy for your failures and find… Grace to help in times of need.

Read Hebrews,     chapter4:16-18.

Jesus has paid the price for all your sin, guilt, and shame with His Precious Blood, and the way is now ‘open’ for your Salvation and entrance into the VERY PRESENCE OF GOD.

You are so blessed to have such excellent access to the Creator of everything that exists.

The first thing you must do to receive His loving favour is to come humbly before Him and admit you are a sinner and repent of that sin. No one is turned away.

He loves you dearly and has been waiting for you to come in the name of Jesus. He will forgive, cleanse, come into your life and save your soul.

Then He will begin to live His life in and through you. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you to empower you to do His will. He will do it.

Prayer: ” Lord God,  I come to you in the Name of your dear Son Jesus Christ. I am a sinner and I cannot save myself.  Thank you that you shed your blood to cleanse me from all my sin.  I ask You to forgive me and save me from Hell.                                 Please fill me with your Holy Spirit to empower me to live a life pleasing to You.” Amen.

Now back to the wonderful outcome of our story of courageous Esther.

King Ahasuerus reversed the decree against the Jews. It is wonderful how God can change the heart of a wicked King and the Persian fixed law to protect His people.

The King’s heart is in the hand of the Lord. Just as He can change the courses of the rivers of water. He changes the heart of a King, however He pleases.’

Proverbs 21:1.

You see God is the Supreme ruler of mankind and He can do whatever he pleases.  Why?

Because He is SOVEREIGN!

The King’s next decree, now dictated by Mordecai would reach all provinces and was written in every language of the people of the empire including the Jews. It was sealed with the king’s signet ring.

Now the Jews, God-chosen people could defend themselves. So on the 7th of March, (my birthday!) the Jews overpowered their enemies and declared a public holiday when they would celebrate with joy and gladness by giving gifts of food to each other and presents to the poor.

They loved to celebrate by music and dancing.

The joyful dancing of our Jewish brethren.

The Festival of Purim.

Was a set time to commemorate the time when the Jews gained relief from their enemies, when their sorrow was turned into gladness and their mourning into joy!

Amen.

PURE JOY FROM THE LORD.
