7. PSALM ONE!

TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE …

THE BLESSED AND THE UNGODLY.

Charles Hadden Spurgeon said. “Sinners cannot live in Heaven; they would be out of their element. Sooner could a fish live upon a tree than the ungodly could live in Paradise.” So, the only way to live in Heaven is to be born again and become new creatures with pure hearts, able to fully enjoy the presence of God, the Angels, and the redeemed, our true Christian friends.

BLESSED. Translated as “blissful” due to the blessings he is receiving or about to receive. It also could be paraphrased as.

“How rewarding is the life of the person who … etc.”

There is a real contrast between those who follow God’s ways and those who choose their own way of living.

As Christians, we all have individual choices to make: Where we sit. Where we walk. Where we stand! Because people influence us, whoever they may be, Christian or Non-Christian.

Our Friends.

Sometimes we don’t carefully discern the person with whom we make friends. It is not until we are wounded by them or we have been led astray to their way of living.

It’s then we realise we became too close and we surrendered our hearts to them and we were ‘burnt’ from the fire of manipulation and control.

So this Psalm is a loving, gentle warning to the righteous in Christ, to choose wisely whom you embrace into your lives. People influence us! First, we must learn to live God’s way. Then reject those who do not follow God’s standards according to His Word.

There are people for whom you would swim an ocean to help, but they will not cross a puddle to help you! These people are just using you and will reject you if you offend them.

If you are caught up in such relationships, then in a Christlike way, end them!

We witness to our acquaintances … We become friends with the Godly.

Who are these ungodly people and how do I recognise them?

Usually, they are consumed by themselves and have no regard for God and His Word, including Church attendance, witnessing for Christ, and reading their Bibles. They can be charming people, but they compromise their moral standards by adopting the world’s standards.

This is where they try to seduce you away from the Lord in devious ways. As the world gets more and more evil the churches are not far behind through compromise.

CHURCH! STAND UP, STAND UP FOR JESUS.

Make sure you attend a Bible-believing, Spirit-led, Soul-Winning Church.

‘GO’ WHERE YOU CAN ‘GROW’ IN CHRIST.

Psalm One tells us regarding the ungodly…

WALK NOT, in their company. Don’t listen to them or take their advice.

STAND NOT, in places where they congregate, keep your communication “short.” Don’t listen to gossip or join in conversations that criticises other people.

SIT NOT, Don’t make them your friends or you will be influenced by them.

THE CONTRAST…

THE GODLY, LOVE THE WORD OF GOD.

They meditate on it day and night. Meaning he “murmurs” or recites it from memory, to put it into practice in his own life.

You are never too old or too young to memorize scripture. Why don’t you choose an easy verse of scripture such as,

John 3:16.

“FOR GOD DO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.”

Say it over and over again until it sits comfortably in your subconscious mind. Then it will remain forever!!

This is what purifies your heart and it is expressed by Godly behaviour.

So the Godly are: SAVED THROUGH CHRIST! YOU ARE A NEW PERSON IN CHRIST…

“Old things are passed away and all things become new.”

SEPARATED – FROM THE WORLD!

What do you allow yourself to watch on TV? What do you read? What about your relationship standards? Your entertainment. Your speech, your dress? We need to be ‘set apart’ from the things that would cause us to stumble and fall away from God. It is called ‘Holy Living.’

THE GODLY.

They are: SANCTIFIED (set apart) LIVING A GODLY LIFE.

The results are:

HE IS A FRUITFUL TREE. Planted by the riverside, a stream of nourishment to bring forth fruit in his season here on this earth.

WHATEVER HE DOES HE SHALL PROSPER.

Prosper in all areas of life. Spiritually. Mentally. Physically. Financially.

Read Jer 17:7,8.

HE IS CAREFULLY PLANTED.

HE IS WONDERFULY PROTECTED.

HIS FRUIT IS PROLIFIC.

THE COMING JUDGMENT.

There is a time of coming judgement, where there will be a distinction between the Godly and the Ungodly.

“THE GODLY ARE IN THE COMPANY OF THE UPRIGHT.” Malachi 3:2.

THE UNGODLY WILL PERISH!                Psalm 1:4-6.

They shall not stand when judged by God.

Will be separated from the Godly.

Driven away by the Spirit of God.

They will perish!

In light of this Psalm. We need to re-evaluate our lives to see if we are among the Godly. The first thing you must do to be counted among the Godly is… To become Godly yourself.

Admit you are a sinner. Believe that Jesus shed his blood and died on the cross to forgive, save, heal and deliver you.

Ask Him into your life and make it new. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and make you like Jesus. Then follow Him.

Then fellowship with other Christians of like mind, so you can grow in the Grace and favour of God.

Amen.

6. PRAYING… PSALM 61.

IT IS OK TO CRY!

TURN YOUR TEARS INTO JOY! PSL 61:1

“Hear my cry, oh Lord … Attend unto my prayer.”

This Psalm begins with crying and ends with singing. Please open your Bible and read this wonderful psalm.

David commences. “HEAR MY CRY LORD”

Then enthusiastically concludes,

“I WILL SING”

God takes note of all your tears.

NIGHT IS TURNED INTO DAY: SORROW INTO JOY; GLOOM INTO SUNSHINE.

The oil of joy banishes mourning and the garment of praise does away with heaviness. How did this delightful transformation take place? We all need to know the secret of how to turn sorrow into joy. How did David do it?

Before David’s crying turned into joy and singing. He turned to God in prayer. He began, “Hear my cry” He added.

“Do something about my prayer.”

He allowed his tears to fall on the lap of Jehovah.

Sorrows, trials and troubles you should see are, ‘Blessings ‘ that are stepping stones to God’s HEART. Anything that draws you closer to Him is:

HIS GOODNESS IN DISGUISE.

God understands your cry even if you cannot articulate your prayer. Why? Because He Knows you personally and hears your particular cry. He is interested in your heart, more than all the good deeds you do.

Jesus knew the hearts of men. “He heals the broken in heart.”

He knows the sound of your voice and sees your tears. He takes note of those tears and every tear you have wept and places them in His bottle. He knows the reason for those tears 😭 and on that glorious day, the Day of the Lord, He will wipe them dry.

If you’re too distraught to even talk to Him about how you feel, then … Cry! Yes cry and keep crying … until it’s all laid on Him. He weeps with you!

He weeps with you.

Jesus knew what it was like to shed tears.

He wept at the tomb of Lazarus.

He cried over Jerusalem.

He wept in the garden. and I am sure…

He wept on that cruel cross … not for Himself, but for those who brutally put Him there. His were the tears of deep compassion for others.

He cried, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” These were tears of forgiveness.

Maybe you need to forgive that abuser, that liar, the cruel words that have been spoken over you. Forgive the rape, the abortion. Most of all you need to…

Forgive yourself for your own bad choices, that caused you so much pain.

Forgive the rejection and all the hurt you have been holding on to all these years.

Some people also need to forgive God, not that He is to blame for sin against you. He is without sin. Forgiving God is really a way of cleansing yourself from your own bitterness and resentment … forgiving Him for allowing that adverse situation in your life.

Of course, when you forgive God, it gives you the freedom to trust Him once more. God loves you and He never changes. He cannot and will not sin.

Remember that Jesus has already forgiven you! Don’t confess the same sin over and over. He will be saying to you, “Heather, what sin?”

FORGIVE … THEN LET IT GO! Yes, give them all to Jesus. Let go, do it now. Cry! Receive HIS FORGIVENESS.

He as an intercessor, weeps with the Holy Spirit before the Father with groanings unutterable for you and me. That is how much He loves you!

Tears are God’s cleansing agents to set you free.

Do you know that at His return to this earth in great glory, His people, the Jews will weep in repentance, tears of great sorrow for Him whom they pierced?

Today He hears your cry each time you weep for yourselves, your family and the souls of men.

“HE HEARS THE CRY OF HIS SAINTS,”

“HE HAS HEARD YOUR PRAYERS.”

NEVER DOUBT IT. EVERY HEART CRY IS HEARD AND INTERPRETED IN HEAVEN! LET IT ALL OUT!

You may ask,

“Then how can I sing if I am still hurting so bad?” By giving them all to Jesus, wounded hearts, broken dreams, battered lives. Hand over to Him all that anger, bitterness and resentment and unforgiveness.

Lay upon Him all your disappointments, mistakes and failures, your guilt and shame…

Hold nothing back, cry it out as He holds you in His warm embrace.

Let those pent-up tears flow, open the floodgates of your life and surrender yourself into His loving arms.

“CAST ALL YOUR CARES UPON HIM, FOR HE CARES FOR YOU.”

“ARE YOU TIRED AND WEARY, FILLED WITH TROUBLE AND DESPAIR?”

“DOES YOUR BURDEN PRESS YOU, BENEATH ITS WORRY AND IT’S CARE”

“ARE YOU GROWING WEARY IN THE STRUGGLE OF IT ALL?”

“REACH OUT TO JESUS … HE’S REACHING OUT TO YOU.”

“HE IS ALWAYS THERE HEARING EVERY PRAYER, FAITHFUL AND TRUE, WALKING BY YOUR SIDE IN HIS LOVE WE HIDE ALL THE DAY THROUGH.”

“WHEN YOU,

GET DISCOURAGED, JUST REMEMBER WHAT TO DO… REACH OUT TO JESUS. HE’S REACHING OUT TO YOU.”

This is a song I once knew over fifty years ago. It still ministers to me today, may it bless you. I am not sure if it is the word perfect but the message is poignant.

Amen.

5. PRAYING PSALM 103.

PSALM  103.                                           We could easily title this Psalm as,

“AMAZING GRACE.”

It is a personal, testimonial of the psalm of Worship and Praise to God in thanksgiving for all His benefits toward us, so we praise,

HIS HOLY NAME.

The Psalmist first shares his reasons for praise in verses 1-5. (Please read this psalm and put your name in the appropriate places and pray them with thanksgiving to the Lord our God.)                                       He enthusiastically urges himself to thank God for the blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon him.                  He doesn’t take each one for granted as we tend to do! His whole being praises God with Respectful awe.

Remember the story of Christ healing the ten lepers, where only one man returned to give praise and thanks for his healing. The miracle occurred as they were going to the priest.

“They were cured and made clean as they were going.” That’s what genuine faith is! Believing in your answer, before you see it! And giving thanks.

“HE ‘HAS’ HEALED ALL MY SICKNESS AND DISEASE.”

The first and best blessing to recall is that God,

“FORGIVES EACH AND EVERY ONE OF OUR INIQUITIES, SINS AND TRANGRESSIONS.”  Calvary Covers it All!

“HE KISSES OUR HEARTS WITH AFFECTIONATE FORGIVENESS!”                  (Passion Translation.)

Isn’t that lovely?

Here is his testimony.

“You have healed every trace of sickness and disease.”

It seems that the writer had suffered from a serious life-threatening disease, but the Lord healed him fully… inside and out, of every disease. (Past tense)

This is also true for us, as Jesus Has Already Healed us by the wounds that wounded Him.

Isa 53:4-6.

1st Peter 2:24.

“BY HIS WOUNDS YOU (ARE) present tense and (WERE) HEALED” ( past tense)

Jesus’ sacrifice is a Finished Work! The writer was kept from hell and destruction and counts it a tremendous blessing.

But instead, the Lord Crowns him with Loving kindness and Tender mercies.

All these gifts are fit for a king and will enrich his life. Jesus is your perfect and complete sacrifice … (Once and for all.)

He not only satisfies the king. But satisfies you at your age with good things so that your youth is being renewed as that of an Eagle, (Restoration and Strength!)

(Thank Him for that!) As we wait on Him, our strength is renewed —physically, mentally, and spiritually. (Praise Him for that!)

We are empowered by the Holy Spirit and as an eagle that mounts toward the sun, we are lifted into realms of Glory into the arms of the ‘SON’ OF GOD.’ (Honour Him for that.)

We shall,

“RUN AND NOT BE WEARY, AND WALK AND NOT FAINT.”

  (Read and thank God for

Isaiah chapter 40:28-31)                     Praise the Lord!

It is not wrong to mark your Bible!

“TEACH ME LORD, HOW TO WAIT!”

Isn’t it wonderful to pray, along with the Psalms?

Now that you have begun to pray… Please Don’t Stop!

Amen.

Peace descends and settles as you pray.

HE’S GOT YOUR BACK!

4. A PSALM OF PRAISE. Psalm 145.

Sometimes we feel at a loss for the right way to praise God. I’ve heard it many times “l can’t pray … so l don’t bother to try!”

Here is a prayer formula to make it easier for you.

This is Psl 145.

(Not AmplifiedVersion.)    “Heather Dalzell style.” Simplified!

Thank you Margaret.

“OH LORD MY GOD, MY KING. I LIFT YOU AND BLESS YOUR NAME FOREVER AND EVER WITH GRATEFUL PRAISE.”

“EVERY DAY I HAVE A REASON TO THANK YOU. YOU ARE SO GREAT, YOUR VASTNESS IS SO WONDERFUL I CANNOT SEARCH IT OUT”

(Read Roms 11:33.)

“YOU ARE UNSEARCHABLE.”

“ONE GENERATION CANNOT HELP TO PASS ON TO ANOTHER YOUR MIGHTY MIRACLES.”

“I THINK I’LL JUST STOP FOR A WHILE  AND REMIND MYSELF ABOUT WHO YOU ARE. YOUR MAJESTY AND YOUR WONDEROUS WORKS.”

“PEOPLE JUST CAN’T KEEP QUIET ABOUT YOUR TREMENDOUS ACTS.”

“YOU POUR FORTH LIKE A FOUNTAIN THE FAME OF YOUR WONDERFUL  GOODNESS AND ABOUNDING GRACE.”

“YOU ARE SO GRACIOUS AND FULL OF COMPASSION.”

“YOU HARDLY THINK ABOUT BEING ANGRY WITH ME, BECAUSE YOU ARE SO KIND. “

“ALL YOUR WORKS BRING PRAISE TO YOU AND EVERYONE HONOURS YOUR NAME.”

“YOUR KINGDOM IS AN EVERLASTING KINGDOM.” (WORLD WITHOUT END!)

“YOU ARE                  CAREFULLY CAREFUL’ NOT TO ALLOW ANY OF US TO FALL. WHEN WE DO, YOU PICK US UP AGAIN.”

Have a look at these promises in

Psalm 37:23-24.

“WHEN WE BECOME DOWNHEARTED YOU HELP US TO REJOICE AGAIN.”

“YOU ARE PERFECTLY RIGHTEOUS IN ALL THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE. YOU NEVER MAKE MISTAKES!”

“THERE IS NO SIN IN YOU.”

“YOU HEAR AND ANSWER ALL THE PRAYERS  OF THOSE WHO PUT THEIR  TRUST IN YOU.”

“YOU SAVE THEM WHO PUT THEIR FAITH IN YOU.”

“I AM NOW USING MY MOUTH TO PRAISE YOU LORD.”

“I WILL PRAISE YOU FOREVER AND EVER              AMEN.”

Never hold your tongue when asked to speak about the Lord!

If you do not have any experience in prayer. Pray this Psalm out loud for a while, until you feel comfortable, then begin to add your own words.

Now choose another Scripture and use it as a pattern for prayer. Praying the Psalms is good.

Before you know it … You will be able to pray for others and in front of others…

Keep in mind that the Lord is interested in your 💓 HEART! Not in the blunders of your prayers.

Don’t copy the way others pray … Open ‘your’ heart to Him.

To be able to pray publicly in front of people is quite ‘unnerving’ for the Majority of new Christians. Young children are unafraid to talk to God.

We ‘must’ learn to conquer the fear of praying “out loud.”

If we do not, then we restrict ourselves in a lot of other ways. For example, witnessing for Jesus. Praying verbally brings other people into agreement with you, which is followed by the promise that God Himself will bring the answer.

Jesus said:

“IF TWO ON EARTH AGREE TOUCHING ANYTHING THEY SHALL ASK, IT SHALL BE DONE OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN.”

Be willing to feel foolish, or embarrassed. Jesus hung on the cross publicly!

Be willing to make mistakes.

Forget about yourself, concentrate on Him and talk to him.

Please don’t give up.

Pray His words back to him, quote His Promises and claim them for yourself.

Pray with JOY!

JESUS FIRST,

YOURSELF LAST,

OTHERS IN-BETWEEN.

PERSONAL PRAYER.

1.Start with Praise and Adoration…               Give Thanks. (for everything)

1 Thessalonians 5:18.

2.Confess your sins and believe that you

are forgiven. (all of your sins!)

Hebrews 10:10. You are perfected. (made Holy.)

3. Be honest in your prayers. Honest with God with yourself and with those to whom you relate.

4.Pray in the

NAME OF JESUS. Use His Name at the start, finish, or wherever you choose.

Jesus said: “IF YOU ASK ANYTHING IN MY NAME, THE FATHER WILL GIVE IT TO YOU.”

5.Pray by faith, believing you can have what you ask. Faith is coupled with the Word of God.

(The Bible) Never one without the other, or you will make huge mistakes and end up blaming God, and slip away.

6. Forgive all those who have offended you.

Unforgiveness will significantly hinder your prayers. If there is unconfessed sin in your life, God cannot hear you. Look at this verse of admonition from

Psalm 66:18.

“IF I REGARD INIQUITY IN MY HEART, THE LORD WILL NOT HEAR ME.”

7. Give thanks.

“IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS, FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD, IN CHRIST CONCERNING YOU.”

PRAYER IS JUST … TALKING TO GOD!

With your mouth…

In your mind…

With your emotions and your life.

So… DONT STOP PRAYING.   IT’S THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO… TO BECOME MORE LIKE YOUR SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

You can join in prayer with Jesus for this ministry.

Pray …That people will carefully read the messages and pass them on to others.

Pray … People will turn their lives over to Jesus and be saved.

Pray … People will make it a daily habit to read the Bible and pray.

3.THE BOOK OF PSALMS.

PSALM 100.

“HALLELUJAH T0 0UR SHEPHERD ”

OUR SHEPHERD’S MISSION.

Jesus didn’t come as a political powerhouse. A domineering leader or a demanding referee.

He came as a shepherd. He came to care for us and to gently lead us as a shepherd leads his sheep.

HE IS OUR GOOD SHEPHERD. He shepherds each one of us, you and me!

He came to give you life and life more abundantly. Just as He calls each star by its name, He calls you by your name. He even knows your nickname! You belong to His flock and you are equal to all other sheep in His fold.

That’s how I can hear His voice speaking to me, guiding and encouraging me.

How powerful it is for me to experience this as I pray to him each day.

Jesus seeks me when I go astray and become lost. He can hear my cry wherever I am. He hears the Spiritual yearnings of my heart. Jesus gently leads me into a safe place where it is best for me.

THINK ABOUT THIS!

Imagine now with me in your mind, that your Saviour is seeking to rescue you from a huge storm. You are lost out on a ridge, wild and bare. Picture Him in your mind coming for you and amidst the wild winds and heavy rain. He reaches down and takes you up into His loving arms and holds you close to the warmth of his chest. Can you imagine this?

Ok, you may have made the wrong decisions and messed up your life. It is never too late to start all over again … With Him!

When you are taken up into His loving embrace and He holds you close and you feel ‘His Joy’ at finding you … and your joy to be found ‘of Him.’ He then offers you a new life, the abundant life that He promised already in His Word.

How precious is that!

Read John chapter 10. This relationship between the Shepherd and the sheep is so cool for you to read. Please take the time to read it.

PSALM ONE HUNDRED.

This Psalm is a call to worship for all Nations,  in response to who God is and what He does on this earth.

He is worthy of universal acclaim. We sing joyful songs to His Name because we belong to Him … We are dependent upon Him for our spiritual existence.

Isa 43:21.

“THE PEOPLE I HAVE FORMED FOR MYSELF. THEY SHALL SET FORTH MY PRAISE.”

We understand with approval that He is God.

Eph 2:10.”WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP.”               (MASTERPIECE.)

RECREATED, (BORN ANEW) IN CHRIST JESUS,

“So we can do the good works which He has planned for us to do, so we should walk in them.

God is reminding us that we are in His flock and He is our Shepherd. We hear His voice and we follow Him.

We are also reminded to serve Him with an attitude of Joy! No matter our station in life.

We also need to remember, it is a privilege and a great pleasure to serve Him.

We enter His gates with a Password of Praise and come into His Presence with Thanksgiving!

“THE LORD IS ALWAYS GOOD AND READY TO RECEIVE YOU!”

“HE IS SO LOVING THAT IT WILL AMAZE YOU!”

“SO KIND THAT THAT IT WILL ASTOUND YOU!”

“HE IS SO FAITHFUL AS YOUR UNCHANGEABLE FRIEND!”

“HE ALWAYS CARES FOR YOU!”

WHAT A WONDERFUL SAVIOUR IS JESUS, MY LORD!

See 1 Peter 5:7. ( From the Amplified version.)

“CASTING ALL OF YOUR CARES,

ALL OF YOUR ANXIETIES,

ALL YOUR WORRIES,

ALL OF YOUR CONCERNS ONCE AND FOR ALL ON HIM,

FOR HE CARES FOR YOU.

HE AFFECTIONATELY CARES ABOUT YOU (WATCHFULLY.)

You are so secure in his hands, and He’s got your back!

This verse in Psalm 55:22. (amplified) is also very Precious.

“CAST YOUR BURDEN ON THE LORD, RELEASING THE WEIGHT OF IT ON HIM, AND HE WILL SUSTAIN YOU;

HE WILL NEVER ALLOW THE CONSISTENTLY RIGHTEOUS TO BE MOVED, MADE TO SLIP, FALL OR FAIL.”

Amen.

2.THE BOOK OF PSALMS.

THE CURE FOR DEPRESSION.

PSALMS 42 and 43.

These psalms were originally composed as one psalm and later divided into two psalms.

The ‘one title’ covers them both. The sons of Korah were a family of Levitical singers. Korah himself was the great-grandson of Levi. David chose them to preside over the music of the Tabernacle tent situated on Mt Zion.

Read both psalms in one sitting and read them twice, then you will have a clearer understanding of how David suffered from depression … yet he found a joyful remedy for it. In both psalms, the subject almost seems the same. But what is most suggestive is the reoccurring of the refrain. This is my interpretation of it.

Not everyone reveals the downheartedness they feel.
Many people are exceptionally good at hiding their true feelings.

“OH MY SOUL, WHY ARE YOU CAST DOWN (depressed) WITHIN ME,

WHY WOULD YOU SINK INTO DEEP DESPAIR?

WAKE UP! GET UP!

KEEP TRUSTING IN GOD YOUR SAVIOUR.

NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY TO ME, OR WHAT HAPPENS TO ME, I WILL KEEP ON WAITING AND KEEP HOPING IN GOD.

I WILL PRAISE YOU OH LORD, THROUGH THIS DOWNCAST FEELING OF DESPAIR, AND HOW LOW I FEEL.

YOU, LORD, ARE THE “HEALTH” AND “HELP” OF MY COUNTENANCE AND MY GOD.”

This refrain comes in the middle of Psalm 42. Again at the end of this psalm and yet again at the end of Pslam 43.

The two psalms prescribe a ‘lovely cure’ for depression.

See the Psalmist’s diagnoses,”cast down” and “disquieted.” Now see him expose the causes and their symptoms.

Verses 1,2.

An interrupted communication with God. A misunderstanding by others.

Verse 3.

An unhealthy brooding over the past.

Verse 4.

Now see how he changes his thinking to receive an effective treatment and a recovery.

He experienced a new determination to “Remember God’s Glory and His Awesome Presence.”

Help is on its way.

Verse 5.

He, still feeling weighed down with a heavy burden calls to remembrance the Lord His God.

Verse 6.

His deep need calls out to the deep kindness of God’s love.

Verse 7.

It’s like drowning in anxiety, struggling for the next breath of peace!

THE SURE PROMISES OF GOD’S LOVE POUR OVER HIS BROCKEN HEART.

He is now beginning to remember afresh, GOD’S SYMPATHY, FAITHFULNESS, and HIS DIVINE PRESENCE.

Verse 8.

Then he resolves that he will PRAY THE MATTER THROUGH.

Verses 7-9.

He keeps reminding himself, not to be discouraged or disturbed. because God “will break through for him.”

THEN HE WILL HAVE PLENTY OF REASONS TO PRAISE HIM ALL OVER AGAIN!

For those of you dear ones who are at this stage in life,

“GOING IN AND OUT OF DEPRESSION.”

Finding the challenge almost unbearable.

Try not to lash out at people, blaming them for your inner conflict or frustration and irritation.

HOPE IN GOD!

Be an open book before Him.

Ask Him to change you where change is due.

Put your will into action.

“I WILL TRUST AND NOT BE AFRAID!”

Remain in CHRIST at all times, through all kinds of troubles and inner conflicts. Don’t be led down the path of despair by those lying emotions.

This is your PRESCRIPTION FOR INNER HEALTH!

HE IS PEACE AND CALMNESS OF SOUL.

FEAR GIVES GIVES WAY TO HOPE.

SIGHING GIVES WAY TO SINGING.

YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE PLENTY OF REASONS TO PRAISE HIM … OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

If you have a chemical imbalance as a reason for your depression, do not feel guilty or ashamed about taking medication until such time God heals you. (Ask the Lord to ‘bless’ your medication each time you take it.)

Find yourself a good Christian Dr who will guide you through these dark valleys into His Glorious Light.

1. THE PRECIOUS, PRICELESS   PSALMS.

PSALMS EXPRESSES WORSHIP.

Throughout its many pages, Psalms encourage us to praise the Lord God for who He is and what He has accomplished.

The Psalms illuminate the greatness of our God, affirm His faithfulness to us in times of trouble and remind us of the absolute centrality of His Holy Word.

The entire collection is thought to have been compiled over a period of a thousand years.

The Psalms are traditionally divided into five ‘books’ possibly to reflect the five books of the Torah.

The Torah consists of the books written by Moses.

Torah: meaning.

TEACHING, DIRECTION, GUIDENCE AND THE LAW.

  • Genesis.  Exodus. Leviticus.  Numbers and Deuteronomy.

We see two beautiful books of their structure.

1. Our position in relationship to our Lord.

2. Our expression of praise that concludes each book.

An example of this is evident in the first psalm.

Psalm One.

The man who is in a close relationship with God is the man who consistently meditates upon the Word of God, and prospers spiritually and in everyday life.

We see again in the lovely Shepherd’s Psalm, Psalm 23. Where David tells us we do not need to fear… because God is always near to us.

So we quickly sum up this five collection of books and conclude that in:

Book one: GOD IS BESIDE YOU.

Book two: GOD IS GOING BEFORE YOU.

Book three: GOD IS ALL AROUND YOU.

Book four: GOD IS ABOVE YOU.

Book five: GOD IS AMONGST YOU.

Dear reader, this is why you should start each day with a psalm on your mind. A song of praise in your heart. ❤️

Make an effort to read a psalm each day. Meditate and Memorize upon them they are sweeter than honey from the honeycomb. More Precious are they than gold. Yes, much fine gold.

A psalm a day keeps the devil away!

The Psalms will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

There are so many psalms in this poetic book of the Bible. Yet we cannot view each one separately, as the book is too wonderfully vast to comment on all that is recorded. So I chose just a few to share with you.

Many Christians find great consolation as they align themselves with the sheer honesty of the writers found here in the PSALMS.

INDIVIDUAL PSALMS.

Let us look at

PSALM 139.

The first twenty-four verses are divided into four “strophes” of six verses each. A strophe is a musical term for dividing verses, so they can be sung effectively. (as in verses and a chorus.)

In the first six verses of this scripture, we have the,

Divine OMNISCIENCE … (God is all-knowing.)

The first verse reads, “Oh Lord, You have searched “me” and known my heart.” The closing verse is the same prayer.”Search me oh God and know my heart.” The Omniscient God knows all of your heart, thoughts, actions and the words that you utter! Reread these verses with me.

MY HEART.        Verse one.

“Oh Lord You have searched me and known my heart.”

Your secret desires,  wants and needs and your motivations are known by God.

MY THOUGHTS. Verse two.

“You have understood my thoughts from a  great distance.” MATTHEW 9:4.

JOHN  2:24,25. (Afar off!)

MY ACTIONS. Verse three.

“You are acquainted with all my ways. (worries, fears, etc… and how I react to them.)

MY WORDS. Verse four.

“There  is not a word unuttered on my tongue that You do not know.”  Heb 4:13.

We are spiritually naked in His sight! Surely if He can read your lips, He can read your mind. (Jesus knew the minds of men.)

As the psalmist writes. “You have reigned me in.”

Meaning Entrapped me! Encircled me about! Again…

THIS COVERS THE WHOLE PERSON.

The inner and the outer life. This is a Divine reality, that God Himself is intricately interested in your individual life and every part of your being.

Here we have Divine OMNIPRESENCE  and it is expressed in five extremes.

How can this be when there are billions of people living in this world? Last count! Eight billion. Because He created you and wants to communicate with you as a father desires to know the minds of his children.

“SUCH KNOWLEDGE IS SO WONDERFUL, IT OVERWHELMS ME, I HAVE TROUBLE COMPREHENDING IT!”

Now read the second strophe, which covers the second set of six verses.

First, there is the extreme of HEIGHT!

“If I ascend into Heaven, You are there.” verse eight.

Then there is the extreme of DEPTH!

“If I make my bed in Sheol (place of the dead) You are also there.” Rom 11:33. (Please look up the references they are so poignant.)

To read more of His Divine presence in your life, keep reading from verses 9-12.

He is “everywhere” at the same time!

Next comes the two extremes. East and West, (Sunrise… Sunset) It reminds me of the verse that says…

“From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the Lord’s NAME is to be praised.”

HIGHT.

DEPTH.

EAST.

WEST.

LIGHT.

DARKNESS.

God is present in them all.

This should bring you ‘comfort.’ Only the Lord is ‘ever’ with you. You cannot hide from Him, nor can anyone hide Him from you!

Now we look at the third strophe covering the third six verses. Here we have, Divine,

OMNISCIENCE meaning (all-powerful.)

verses 13-18. The Psalmist speaks of the mystery of the human birth and life. Read it for your benefit.

The creation of man is the crown of creative achievement and the evidence of God’s power. As you ponder the power, the thought, the love, the care that God exercises toward man and each of us as individuals. Do not we join with David when he closes this strophe?

“How precious are your thoughts to me, oh God! How great is the number of them? If I were to count them, they would be in more numbers than the sand.”

Not only does He count the sand and know each tiny grain. He knows each hair upon your head and …

HE FEELS YOUR PAIN.

He knows all about you. So rest in Him, He loves you, delight yourself in Him and you will have the desires of your heart.

Now let’s reflect upon the Holiness of God, verse 19.

David has a real concern for those who sin against Him and in particular his sin. He wants a clean break with sin, altogether! That’s how we should feel about our sins.

l hate sinning and I keep very short accounts with God by repenting of each known sin.

We should pray, “Lord, keep me from sin and temptation. Please deliver me from the evil one.” (He is the one who causes us to sin, if we listen to him!)

Thinking about God in this Psalm should bring us to our knees humbling ourselves before Him.

Kneel before Him in prayer.

Why don’t we repeat the final verse with David to the Lord?

“Search me oh God and know my heart. Try me oh God and Know my thoughts, and see if there is anything else wicked in me.  Save me and lead me into everlasting  Life.” Through …

JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD,

Amen

7.HAPPY EVER AFTER ENDING.

THE HEALING OF JOB.

THIS IS A TRUE STORY, NOT A FAIRY TALE!

Job is vindicated and restored, then he is rewarded by God.

You can be comforted to know that after your trial and suffering, there is a COMPENSATION and a REWARD.

It may not come in the present lifetime as Job’s did, but it will surely come. The Scriptures say,

“SURELY THERE IS AN END AND YOUR EXPECTATION SHALL NOT BE CUT OFF.”

We have the soon return of the Lord Jesus and the promised Millennium Kingdom.

Then God rebukes Job’s three comforters.

Read chapter 42:7-17

These men almost destroyed Job’s soul.

In Job 3:2 it tells us that Job “sinned not with his lips”

But after they had judged him from a  misrepresentation of God, poor Job was driven to sin with his lips.

I have experienced that a number of Christians in the Name of the Lord can be used by Satan to cause you to doubt God and His leading for your life.

How many maligned Pastors have given up and left the ministry broken and defeated by the tongues of men…I’m sorry to hear that many innocent men of God are not fulfilling the call that God put within their hearts due to gossip and the bitter judgement of self-righteous Christians.

Stop! Right now, you are doing the work of the devil. Don’t say … pray, pray!

If there is a problem with Your leader. You go to your brother alone, not to other people to destroy his reputation.

If you cannot reconcile the difference in what you see or believe with the Pastor then find another church and leave with a blessing. God may be moving you on so you can be more effective for the Lord somewhere else.

Allow the Holy Spirit to convict and convince him of sin. He will do complete work and continue to use him for the glory of God. Please love and support your pastor, his wife, and his family. If you cannot, then move on.

If God leads you to stay in your church, be loyal, loving, forgiving and encouraging. Then God will bless your life.

How do l know this?

Because my dear husband, a Pastor, died in the middle of a church split!

They analysed Job to find their reason for his suffering, then left him in condemnation and despair. Job was totally alone without any support.

Yet through deep depression and anxiety, Job hung in there. God Himself finally came to his rescue.

See James chapter 5:1-11.

“YOU HAVE HEARD THE PATIENCE OF JOB, AND SEEN THE END OF THE LORD .”

We are meant to see beyond him to God,

WHO IS VERY COMPASSIONATE AND FULL OF MERCY. GOD IS INDEED RULER OVER EVERYTHING EVERYONE, INCLUDING SATAN!

Job is transformed, restored, and vindicated. Note, this happened ‘after’ he prayed for his three accusers. He had to humble himself and forgive these cruel-tongued men.                            (There was no room in his heart for bitterness and resentment.)

HE DOES COME FORTH AS GOLD ‘TRIED IN THE FIRE.’GOD CALLS HIM, “MY SERVANT.”

This is a vindication for him in all areas of his life especially the physical. He could breath in fresh pure air, instead of his own “stench.”

There was “no pain.” His skin was as beautiful as that of a “young child.”

JOB WAS SPIRITUALLY, MENTALLY, AND PHYSICALLY HEALED!!

GOD PROSPERED JOB AND GAVE HIM DOUBLE FOR HIS TROUBLE!”

See chapter 24:10-17

First, his family and friends gathered around him and gave him money and an eating of gold.

Secondly, he had fourteen thousand sheep and one thousand cattle. A thousand female asses.

He had also seven sons and three daughters. His daughters were stunningly beautiful and were the most gorgeous in the land.

He lived one hundred and forty years and saw four generations of his sons.

He died, being old and full of days. (very satisfied)

What do you think of that satan. You accuser of Christians?

With Jesus, we always win!!

Everything that satan had stolen God returned twofold (except his wife!) We do not understand what she went through. So let us not judge her.

What must you do in your trials and tribulations?

TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND LEAN NOT UPON YOUR UNDERSTANDING. IN EVERYTHING YOU DO PUT HIM FIRST AND HE WILL CROWN YOUR EFFORTS WITH SUCCESS.

He was blessed with many children.

Proverbs chapter 3:5,6.

“REST IN THE LORD AND WAIT PATIENTLY FOR HIM. HE WILL ALSO BRING IT TO PASS.”

Read PSALM 37:1-6. It surely will encourage you of … HOW GOOD IS OUR GOD.

So rest, believe the Word and trust the Lord and eventually, all things will work together for good for those who love the Lord and are the called according to his purpose.

Romans chapter 8:28.

Amen.

THE MINISTRY AND MY CALLING.

To those of you who support this ministry and those of you who are praying about supporting me, l thought l would give you a more detailed account of what l do.

First of all, there are my weekly blogs. There is also evangelism in my community. I am blessed to see a soul saved on an average of once every fortnight. ( God is the soul winner) l need to obtain Bibles and information to help them to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord. Then there is the cost of Gospel tracts that are handed out.

My newly rented house is where people come for Salvation, Hope and Healing. (Jesus still heals today.)

The sign at my old house is now facing the road on a tree.

Also, I am writing a book. The next need is to cover the costs of new phones and iPads. And technical help when things go wrong, which happens often. That happens every two or three years. I spend approximately $200:00 per month on this vital ministry.

Now, a visitation team visits the elderly, the sick, and the lonely in a local nursing home, as well as isolated individuals in their own homes.

Furthermore, l am a widowed Senior Pensioner and the pension does not cover my expenses. I know we are living in hard times and the cost of living is so high.

All l ask you to do is pray and seek the Lord’s guidance as to supporting me. This is God’s great ministry and I’m sure He will truly bless you as you partner with me. Thank you for your consideration. Heather Dalzell.

6. THE VOICE FROM THE WORLDWIND!

GOD HIMSELF SPEAKS!

Chapter 38-41. (Please take time to read it.)

I think of the verse that says.

“THE LORD IS IN HIS HOLY TEMPLE.               LET ALL EARTH BE SILENT BEFORE HIM.”

In this instance when God speaks, the five men are struck dumb with awe at the sound of his voice. It was …

“LIKE THE SOUND OF MANY WATERS,”    breaking forth upon them from the whirling air.

The first thing we notice that God does not give Job an explanation for his suffering.                           Nor does He argue with Job.                                       He does not humiliate Job, yet Job is humbled by Gods Powerful, Wise and Wonderful Words.

There are some things about human suffering that God cannot possibly explain to us without destroying the very purpose for which they are designed.

God was well aware and concerned about what Job was going through.          He was with him in His Divine love and care.

He always keeps His Promises.

He was ever watching, hearing, caring for and waiting for the right time to deliver him.                           Soon Job would realise this with sudden vividness and learn how wrong his friends were in their accusations.

God had Job, as He has you on his mind when He demonstrated His Grace upon the Cross of Calvary, through Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord.

HE DEARLY LOVES YOU, WHOEVER YOU ARE, AND HOW VILE YOU HAVE BECOME. SALVATION IS OPEN TO YOU.

Have you identified with Job and come to the point where you can rest upon God Himself, apart from an explanation from Him?

You need to trust God in the Dark.

Trust Him when the storm is raging.

When you think you are exhausted from people’s opinions about you.

You can trust Him though you are,

Judged wrongly,

Contradicted,

Ridiculed,

Misunderstood,

Blamed and analysed by the opinions of men.

Even your philosophical reasoning must be put aside.

God in Christ suffered for us all.

Be real as Jesus was real. There were times He spoke and times He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, So … “He opened not his mouth.”

“THE JUST FOR THE UNJUST.”

“YOU ARE THE  RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM.” (Christ Jesus)

Finally, God’s discourse was to bring Job to the End of himself.               To the end of his own:

Self-Righteousness!

Self-Vindication!

Self-Wisdom!

Self-Everything!!

WHY?

THAT HE MIGHT FIND HIS ‘ALL IN GOD.’

Please read,             Chapter 40:1-5.                 Job declares,

“Lord, I will shut my mouth! “Now I see and I have uttered what l didn’t understand.”

Dear reader, where do you fit in this story?

What do you need to change in your life?             Sometimes we mouth off things that are beyond us, just to get attention.

THE LORD SAID, “OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND
I WILL FILL IT..” LAY THAT TONGUE ON THE ALTAR OF SACRIFICE.

We are to choose:

When to speak.

How and what to speak to other people.

Go on about Jesus!   Exhube the Joy of the Lord. He is your strength.

Don’t go on and on about your illness or problems to everyone you meet …

Then you will hear Him speak to you. He is speaking all the time.

It is sin that blocks His voice so you cannot hear.

If you do not you will hear another voice, the voice of guilt, condemnation, blame and shame. You hear the voice of the accuser who in the beginning of this true story accused Job.

Listen carefully.

I am not saying that you can’t tell someone about your pain, sorrow and desperation. We need to speak to trusting friends so they can pray for us. We all need a shoulder to cry on.

So don’t be a religious martyr and pretend that everything is, ‘Fine and Dandy’ “Well praise the Lord.”

Oh, Jesus, I am sorry for my sin. Come into my life and save me, heal me and deliver me from the evil one. FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM AND THE POWER AND THE GLORY, FOREVER, AMEN.

Pray for wisdom to know to whom you can open up and bare your soul and cry your tears.

Your attitude speaks louder than your words.

Regarding the handling of those who are sick with sin and are reaping the consequences. Love them, be patient and let the Holy Spirit do His perfect work of redemption, restoration and healing.

Be quick to apologise.

Be slow to get angry.

“Because anger works not the righteousness of God.”

David the Psalmist prays.

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength, my Redeemer.”

Amen and Amen.

Hello, my prayer and support partners. God is at work in these last days. Souls are being saved and mentored in His Word. People are coming back to the Lord of Glory from sin and backslidden lives.

Please keep praying for this ministry and if God puts me on your heart for financial support l would be forever grateful.

You can do this by giving through my bank card or obtaining my bank credentials privately.

Rich blessings upon you.

5.ELIHU’S ADVICE TO JOB. (A New Voice.)

THE YOUNGEST IN THE GROUP.

ELIHU.

He is the youngest man in the group. He has ceased speaking because of the seniority of the others. His speech which fills no less than six chapters has a:

NEW PERSPECTIVE.

A NEW APPROACH.

NEW APPEAL.

A NEW ANSWER.

Chapters 32-37.

Elihu suggests that wisdom does not come with age, but through Inspiration of God. chapter 32:9. Inspiration comes to anyone who seeks the mind of God.

Job is longing to have someone to mediate between God and himself. Elihu believes “He is the one”

He boldly states, “I am here in God’s place” Chapter 33:6.

The other comforters were judgemental whereas Elihu wanted to be a brother.

“But God is greater than man so He does not need to explain Himself. Yet he will speak to you if you will listen!”

Chapter 33:14-15. When God chastises, it is with a view to: HEAL AND RESTORE!

God is RIGHTEOUS AND IMPARTIAL!

Chapter 34:10-19. He is Perfect in Discernment and yet some of his ways are mysterious.

Suffering is not necessarily a punishment for past behaviour, but CORRECTIVE!

There are things you can do to change the way you behave. “As a man thinks so is he.”

God comes to restore you and He acts with,

ABSOLUTE RIGHTEOUSNESS.

IMPARTIALITY.

AND DISCERNMENT.

You can ask God “why”? Jesus did so on the cross.

But you cannot demand an answer from Him. He is greater than man so He does not require to explain Himself to us at all.

Elihu appeals for absolute patience. Tell God how you feel and be patient and wait for Him so you can learn.

Chapter 35:15.

We must have faith in God Himself, rather than to have an explanation from Him.

This is true Wisdom. God is All Knowng and All Righteous. You must believe that before you can trust Him. Chapter 36:5.

“TOUCHING THE ALMIGHTY, WE CANNOT FIND HIM OUT; HE IS EXCELLENT IN POWER AND JUDGEMENT AND PLENTEOUS IN JUDGEMENT AND JUSTICE.”

HE WILL NOT WILLINGLY AFFLICT MEN.

LET MEN THEREFORE FEAR HIM.”

It gets down to this. Faith in God is better than an explanation. You must trust him first, that’s what faith is all about. Believing though you can’t see.

Do you trust God though you do not understand?

Or are you like Job contending with God demanding answers to things you don’t understand?

Let us,

“STAND STILL AND QUIETLY WAIT AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD!”

Remember dear one who is suffering and you know the Lord. Satan is the cause of sin and when we make decisions that are out of God’s will. There are consequences. The moment you stop questioning Him and trust Him instead, He will take control. Put yourself on the altar of sacrifice, and give it all to Jesus.

The keyword for you is the word Surrender!

He will make a way of escape so you can bear it. In His wisdom and time He will always give you a safe landing place. Oh precious one He dearly loves you.

I prophesy this over you. “THERE IS AN EXPECTED END.”

If you need help, don’t go to the world to find it. Go to God, and be guided by His Word.

The Counsellor, the one called alongside to help you has the Authority and Power to deliver you from the grip of the evil one. That’s why Jesus shed His precious blood on the cross of Calvary.

“IF THE SON WILL MAKE YOU BE FREE. YOU WILL BE FREE INDEED.”

Amen.
