MUTUAL POSSESSION.
Mutual possession is expressed in Chapter 2:16.

What a joy it must be! ”
“MY BELOVED IS MINE AND I AM HIS.”
JESUS is bound to us and we to Him. “With cords that cannot be broken.”
CORDS (crushed by grief.)
You are bound to Him by His promises of an eternal Covenant.
The Divine Cord of LOVE.
The Cord of REDEMPTION.
And if we choose to be bound by them they will… LAST FOREVER!
THE STORY…
BLESSED BE HIS DEAR NAME.
SOLOMON is depicted as the lover himself. The king, accompanied by a courtly retinue (attendants), visited the Royal Vineyards on Mount Lebanon and came upon the beautiful Shulamite woman by surprise.
Very much afraid, she ran from them!
So Solomon disguised himself as as a Shepherd and visited her and so won her love.

He then came back in all his Royal state and invited her to leave Lebanon and become his Queen.
They are in the ceremony of marriage when the poem opens. Before we continue let us note the Bride’s safety.
She is the Dove in the cleft of the rock.

She is safe from the storms of life.
The rock is immovable… That Rock is Jesus.

Yes, He is “The Rock!” The Rock of Ages… sheltering you and me. See how much the bride is loved and admired by her husband.
The rock of Ages is the one we turn to in our time of need. He is enduring, unchanging and steadfast.
You must notice by now, that both Father God and Jesus is also GOD, both are THE ROCK OF AGES!

So let us trust the Lord, commit yourself to Him
Lean on Him and hope confidently in Him forever;
For the Lord God is the everlasting Rock of Ages.
Solomon said to her, “Let me see your beautiful face. Let me hear your wonderful voice.”
“Your voice is sweet and your face is comely.”
(pleasant to see).
Ladies, How do you react when your husband admires you or some physical part of your body?
Do you accept his compliments or throw them back into his face?
Ah !! Naw.. l’m too fat!! etc..
In this story the Bride gladly receives his admiration and is so enamoured by him, she is very quick to return his compliments.
MEN, Don’t give up ! She needs to be complemented and is worth complementing!
WOMEN, It is best if you refrain from saying a single negative word when replying.
Many of us as women suffer with a low, (very low self-esteem
Say nothing! Except smile, and give thanks.
As men or women, we need to know that we are Precious in their sight.
If only we could see it!
Just be pleasantly pleased. And sweetly say…
“Thankyou!”
Humbly accept any form of praise.
Jesus bought you with His own Precious Blood. Hear Him speaking. He never views us with a critical eye.
“I LOVE YOU AS MY BELOVED… I GAVE MYSELF FOR YOU THAT I MIGHT PRESENT YOU TO MYSELF, A GLORIOUS CHURCH WITHOUT SPOT OR WRINKLE OR ANY SIMILAR THING.”
(OR ANY FAULT AT ALL) HOLY, WITHOUT BLEMISH.” Ephesians 5:25-27.
Oh, what a DAY OF REJOICING THAT WILL BE!

When we feast together as His Bride. At the MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB!!
CAN’T WAIT!
AMEN.
