THE RIVER OF LIFE.

This river of life is mentioned in other places in the Bible

It flows through its pages, bringing life wherever it goes.

This particular river of life was shown to Ezekiel in a vision from God.

The very source of the water is God Himself.  He is the Water of life, as you can reasonably see in the story of:

‘The Woman at the Well’ in the New Testament.

Jesus said it: “l am that living water.” He is the source of all life and blessings.

The first trickle of water came from under the altar, the place of forgiveness from all sin.

“There none righteous, no not one.” We all need to come to the Father through the Son. It is His Blood that cleanses us from all sin. There is no other way.

This river is remarkable.

Ezekiel 47:3.

There was a man with a measuring stick. As Ezekiel watched, he measured off 1,000 cubits, which is in our measurement 500 yards.

He continued to measure as the water grew more profound. It had become ankle-deep.

As they continued to measure further, it became knee-deep. He led Ezekiel to wade in the depths of the waters.

Every other river becomes more robust due to feeder streams, But this river is different because it becomes  stronger all by itself. All the water is directly flowing from the Lord.

This river didn’t need streams added to it to grow deeper and deeper.

God’s LIFE-GIVING river does not need anything  else added to it from the world to make it grow.

Neither do we need good works of our own to obtain true Salvation and grow in grace.

Now, the water has become knee-deep another 500 yards beyond.

Then He measured off another 500 yards, and he led Ezekiel through  the waters and it was up to his waist.

Then, another 500 yards further, the waters were more profound and faster. He could only swim. The river was uncrossable unless you were a strong swimmer.

Spiritually, as the river deepens  it invites you to grow deeper into God. He has so much to offer.

A GLORIOUS SALVATION.

CLEANSING,

PEACE,

JOY AND LOVE.                            All wrapped up in a bundle of Grace.

“OUT OF MY DEPTH IN HIS LOVE. ❤️ “

Would you take the time to read these Scriptures? I’m sure they will bless you in your wade with God in the river of life. He is out there in the deep, beckoning you to swim into His presence.

Psalm 46.

Isaiah 13: 18-20.

Joel 3:18.

These precious promises bring you life and hope. Father God loves to pour out His blessings upon His beloved ❤️  people.

The way and depth of the River is ever increasing, so you can go deeper and deeper into God. There is so much 😊  JOY in knowing Him as Lord of your life.

Where are you in your walk with Christ?

Some Christians are content just to dip their toes into the water of life.

Some people like to paddle knee-deep, where children play and will not venture further.

Is it fear that holds you back from witnessing Christ?

Claim this promise from God’s Word.

ISAIAH 43:2.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. When you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.“

IT TAKES FAITH TO STEP INTO THE RIVER.

IT TAKES FOCUS TO KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE HOLY ONE.

Isn’t that what Peter did?  He took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink. Yet the Lord Jesus kept him safe.

I AM FEELING YOUR STRONG ARMS AROUND ME. 

“Lord, please keep me from being impulsive so I make brave and righteous decisions where I choose to 🏊‍♂️  swim. I can’t live without YOU!”

If you by faith swim out of your depth where your feet can’t touch the bottom of the River anymore. Now have faith enough to turn over on your back and allow yourself  be carried by the current of God’s love.

Surrender yourself completely  into His perceived will.

It’s time to get off the dry land. Don’t be content to paddle along the edges. Dive into that healing, refreshing river and start to swim toward Him. He will help you and you’ll not drown.

This Christian song says it all.

“OUT OF MY DEPTH INTO YOUR  LOVE, OUT OF MY DEPTH IN YOU.

THINGS I HAVE HELD SO TIGHTLY  THAT MADE ME  FEEL  SECURE.

GIVE ME THE STRENGTH, I SIMPLY NEED TO LET GO.

OUT OF MY DEPTH IN YOUR LOVE ❤️

SWIM BABY SWIM!

THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL.

Not only dry bones, but shattered, scattered bones in no order.

Most of us imagine seeing connected skeletons lying around on the valley floor.                                              No, they were disjointed rubbish bleaching in the sun

God led Ezekiel  back and forth among them and he saw a great many bones and the bones were very dry.

God asked Ezekiel,

“CAN THESE BONES LIVE AGAIN?”

Ezekiel replied,  

“Sovereign Lord, You alone know.” (These bones were  completely depleted of calcium and phospherous).

Bones are the last traces of the dead and seem to last forever.

God Commanded Ezekiel to speak to those bones and God would breathe life into them.

He would restore their tendons, flesh and skin, covering them, but there was no breath in them. God then told Ezekiel to call forth the four winds and breathe life into them.

As Ezekiel  prophesied, the wind  blew the breath of life into them.

The word in Hebrew is translated as ‘ruach’, meaning ‘God’s Spirit’. It is also translated in the Scriptures as wind, breath, and air.

Remember in Genesis, after God finished forming Adam from the dust of the earth, He breathed into his nostrils the,

‘BREATH OF LIFE’,

and Adam became a ‘LIVING SOUL.

Now, as Ezekiel prophesied, the wind blew the breath of life into them, and a vast army stood to their feet.

The Prophet was astounded at the miracle happening before his eyes. The army  were dressed and ready for war.

This was a message to Israel. The dry bones represent the exiles whose political and  religious conditions at the moment indeed were very dry indicating both a hopeless situation and a irreparable condition. This is well captured  by the exile’s expression,

“Our bones are dried up, and our hope is gone.”

We are cut off. Verse 11.

The word (gazar) for cut-off is used here as an expression to indicate the separation, detachment,expulsion, and exclusion of the Israelites from their ancestral land and religion.

As those dry bones Israel  was in a state of total deadness. The people were in a hopeless 😔 situation and a irreparable condition.

YET GOD CAN REVIVE !

He can REVIVE those of us who are dead in trespasses and sins.

He revives through His Word and Spirit, just as He did in Ezekiel’s vision.

This promise of restoration tells you that no matter how dire your circumstances, there’s always hope with God. God’s power to revive and restore what is dead or lost.

WHAT DOES THIS VISION MEAN FOR SOME OF US TODAY?

Do you feel like?                            The Walking Dead?’

You have tried to find happiness in Alcohol, 

Drugs, Partying.

Gambling.

Cults. Witchcraft.

Sex, Pornography.

Violence, Theft.

Broken Marriages. Etc?

What a struggle it has been. You chose these addictions, but they chose you, and you struggle to be free.

You’ve tried and failed, tried and failed. Sometimes, you congratulate yourself for winning over all the adverse habits only to taste one drink, light up a cigarette, choose a sex partner, and soon you are back in the deep end, nowadays incarcerated and so disappointed with yourself but blaming everyone else.

THERE IS ONLY ONE PERSON WHO CAN HELP YOU.

His name is: 

JESUS CHRIST.

“He that has the Son has life, but he that does not have the Son has no life at all.“1John 5:12.       

You can’t pull yourself up by your bootstraps! The moisture you need in those dry spiritual bones is the sweet Holy Spirit of God.

He changes you from within. You were dead in sins, but you come to life in Christ. As you follow Jesus and live a wholly surrendered life, He will change you from within and make you a copy of Himself.

He takes away your hardness and fills you with His sweetness 💕.

He can absorb all that anger and bitterness and replace it with forgiveness and love.

From sorrow and sighing into gladness and 😊 joy.

From sickness into wellness.

If you allow Him, He can change ‘everything’ about you.

YES!!     “NOT I!            BUT CHRIST WHO DWELLS WITHIN ME”

Hallelujah.   

Please take that step of faith you can’t lose!

“ON THAT DAY, A FOUNTAIN WILL BE OPENED FOR THE DYNASTY OF DAVID FOR THE PEOPLE OF JERUSALEM—A FOUNTAIN TO CLEANSE THEM FROM ALL THEIR SINS AND IMPURITIES.”

Zechariah 13:1. 

Amen

The Prophet heard a whirlwind and saw a great cloud and a fire enfolding itself. (Catching itself)

As it went round and round, each flame seemed to catch the next flame before it. The picture is of a terrific whirling thunderstorm enclosed in a lurid flashing of fire.

In the middle of the firey globe, there was an Amber coloured light, a brilliant kind of luminous metal. From this magnificent centre glow of this firestorm cloud, living figures appear.

Out of the fiery heart of the storm cloud, Ezekiel saw “FOUR LIVING CREATURES”, Each with four faces, four wings and four hands. They were symbolic of the Judgement of Jerusalem.

They came from Babylon via the north, and They were the “Cherubim” ” the same that were in the garden of Eden guarding the gate and appearing at the end times in the book of Revelation as guardians of the Throne in Heaven. You can survey this in Revelation chapter 4, etc.

Yet the presentation of them was purely symbolic. (a likeness of ) mentioned by Ezekiel 15 times.

What then do their likenesses convey to us?

1. First, each had four faces.

THE FACE OF A MAN. THE FACE OF A LION. THE FACE OF AN OX. THE FACE OF AN EAGLE.

The fourfold meaning here is obvious  STRENGTH. SERVICE. INTELLIGENCE. HEAVENLINESS.

Here, the symbol is Strength at its greatest. Service at its meekness. Intelligence at its fullness. And spirituality is soaring to the Utmost Highest.

Wheels upon Wheels.

But now in verse 15 a new strange marvel appears beside the living beings. The size and sweep of such a wheel was vast. They reached down to earth yet they reached up to Heaven. They were the appearance of Beryl and there was a wheel within middle of a wheel.

Around the rim, that looked astounding were full of eyes. These rims connected Heaven with 🌎 earth. Wherever they went they kept straight forward and did not turn. This was because they had four faces and each face was facing its own direction of north, south, east and west, they needed not to turn.

The vast rims were full of eyes. Verse 18. (astounding) These countless eyes looked simultaneously in every direction from the crosswise rims. They saw everything; nothing was hidden from them, as depicted.      Omnipresence of God                            (His presence everywhere.)

A lesson we can learn from this vision.

During the storms of life we must do as the creatures did. Go straight forward and follow the Holy Spirit’s direction, and turn not to the right hand or the left hand. Proverbs 3:5,6. “Lean not unto our understanding.”

In your grief, don’t wallow in self-pity.

Go forward to strengthen other hurting people. You will heal much quicker if you do this.

You go with the confidence of His Omnipresence (being capable of being everywhere at the same time.)  That will never  leave you or forsake you.

These four living creatures symbolize the, LIFE OF GOD.

His strength, service, intelligence and spirituality are at their highest peak. The four awesome wheels express the:

All Knowledge,

All Power, 

All Presence of God.

This what makes Him Jehovah God.

God Himself was the Spirit of Jehovah in the living creatures.

So then the wheels connect the events of the Earth with the Cherubim of Heaven… and the Cherubim connect them with God.

Both Ezekiel and John in Revelation make it clear that the four living creatures stay nearest of all creatures to the Throne of God Himself and most closely express His Life.

It is seen distinctive evidence of the four gospel writers.

THE LION in Matthew.

THE OX in Mark.

THE MAN in Luke

THE EAGLE in John.

THE RAINBOW 🌈 CIRCLED THRONE IN REVELATION.

Seated on that glorious Throne is a spectacular figure surrounded by 🔥 fire.

There is a centre glow as of luminous or molten metal (Amber) and surrounded by brilliant light.

These symbols are expressions of the pure holiness and unapproachable glory of Jehovah.

Ezekiel recognises the likeness of God’s glory and falls prostrate on his face.

“GRACE GRACE, MARVELLOUS GRACE. GRACE THAT IS GREATER THAN ALL MY SIN.”

He was overawed at seeing the rainbow around the Throne, which crowns the Glory  cloud with a gentle hue. Really gorgeous! Amazing!

It has been said that it is the token of the Divine Covenant. Amid the dark thunderclouds of Divine Judgement, love and grace will prevail.

Thank you, Jesus, that the rainbow 🌈is an everlasting sign of God fulfilling His promise to the world.

EZEKIEL, THE MAN.

Ezekiel was born in Jerusalem. He died in Babylon.

EZEKIEL is a boys name of Hebrew origin, meaning, “Strength of God.” Yechezekiel… “God will strengthen.”

He was considered as one of the greatest prophets of his time. He was the author of the book bearing his name.

He was one of the captives taken into exile by the Babylonians during the first fall of Jerusalem. He was both Prophet and Priest. This exile happened during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar approximately 597 BC.( before Christ) chapter 1:3.

Theologically, Ezekiel focuses upon Israel and a future new exodus when God will gather the people back to the Promised land.

God’s Word of consolation provides the blessings of peace, provision of food, a restored Covenant and the rebuilding of the Temple.

Ezekiel experienced extraordinary visions bringing consistent messages from the Lord to the people. He took the position of Prophet over the ministry of being a priest .

God spoke God’s messages very clearly concerning what would take place. Ezekiel was now 35 years of age during this first Babylonian exile.

God revealed what the evil practices were: First the practice of,

IDOLATRY.

He commanded them to repent and turn from their idols and renounce all their associated evil practices. Ezekiel 14:6.

MURDER.

Secondly, the Sacrifice of babies and children to deaf and dumb ldols. This detestable practice was a ritual of their neighbours, and foreign nations. Israel was widely influenced by them.

TODAY IN 2024, 6 Billion abortions have murdered innocent babies over a period of five years.

God calls this practice Abominable!

Ezekiel 16:22.

GROSS IMMORALITY.

“THEN ALL EXISTANCE SHALL KNOW THAT I GOD AM JEHOVAH !”

Prostitution, homosexuality, Adultery and Fornication.

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will it be at the days of the coming of the Son of Man.

As it was in the days of Ezekiel. Elijah, Joel, Daniel and many others.

As it is in 2025, so will it be when Jesus returns. I am not a Prophet, but I sense He is coming soon. Are you ready?

Most prophesies are fulfilled, and we are experiencing the signs and wonders Jesus mentioned in Matthew chapter 24. (Please read)

The focal message of Ezekiel which is expressed in various ways is:

“THEY SHALL KNOW I AM JEHOVAH”

It occurs in the Bible no less than 70 times. Twenty-nine times on the Judgement of the Gentile nations. and 17 times in the coming restorations of the elect of Israel. “Everyone who reads and understands this must know that Jehovah is the one true God and the Sovereign ruler of all nations.”

1. By the Sovereign power of God by the punishment of Jerusalem and the captivity of the chosen people.

2. By the judgements prophesied on the Gentile nations of Ezekiels day which came true exactly as foretold.

3. By the preservation and ultimate restoration of the Covenant people which had a partial fulfilment in the return of the remnant under the leadership of Ezra and Nehemiah.

4. Now in our times we have witnessed the marvellous preservation of Israel through wars and dreadful persecution.

5. And the church age which has is now hastening to it’s millennium 1,000 years consumption.

6. The Rapture: ( Catching up of every born-again believer.)

7. Then, the return of Christ with His saints to set up His Glorious, Unshakeable Kingdom of God.

Gog and Magog, now Iran, or once called Persia (Communist Russia and China), was destroyed by the assault of God.

Read Ezekiel chapter 38-39 and learn about the Final destruction of all evil and the renewal of God’s people.

THE WEEPING PROHPET.

Come with me to visit from the sorrow of Jeremiah over to the New Testament and listen to the woeful cry of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

“O, Jerusalem, Jerusalem, You that killed the prophets and stoned those whom I sent you, how often would I have gathered together your children? Even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and you refused my offer. Now your house is left desolate!”

This tearful wail from our Lord, the man of sorrows over the rebel city that soon would crucify him as their Messiah-King:

But six hundred years before then, those words were anticipated and outlined by the brave but broken-hearted prophet Jeremiah in the poetic form of the book of Lamentations.

Jeremiah suffered inwardly. His sympathetic heart was torn between his love for God, and the love and grief for his fellow-countrymen which made him Suffer with them.

“In all their afflictions he was afflicted.”

He felt with the people and equally felt with God.

Imagine with me what tragedy his eyes saw. It was horrific, traumatic and indescribable, never to be forgotten genocide.

He confesses:

“My eyes are spent with weeping;

My Soul trembles;

My ❤️ heart pours out in grief because  of the destruction  of the daughter of my people.”

AUTHORSHIP.

It is indeed the work of Jeremiah. This proof of this is that Jeremiah’s name is attached to it in the Hebrew original. The historian Josephus confirms it. Later Jewish and Christian scholarship endorsed it. We therefore accept it.

The heart of the poem, both literally and Spiritually, is the middle passage of the middle chapter. Five times that word, “hope” occurs. Affliction does its humbling work, (verse 20)

The sufferer grasps its meaning, and cries out,

“I have HOPE” (Verse 21). The new hope is in God alone as the context shows. This is emphasised again as the poem closes-

“YOU! OH LORD REMAIN” (verse 19).

The final prayer of the poem yet will be fulfilled.-

“RENEW OUR DAYS OF OLD” and Zion will be the head of all nations.

As is happening today and this and age, Israel is suffering the fires of affliction  war and persecution, yet they will not be consumed. They will sing and dance in the streets the stanza of this song 🎵 of faith.

“IT IS OF THE LORDS MERCIES THAT WE ARE NOT CONSUMED BECAUSE HIS COMPASSIONS NEVER FAIL.THEY ARE NEW EVERY MORNING. GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS LORD UNTO ME.”

Neither will they ever be consumed!! All shall be preserved until Jesus, David’s greater son, shall return with His saints and take the Throne and reign gloriously in Jerusalem over all tribes and nations, all, peoples, all tongues…

“And every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father.”

Philippians chapter 2:9-11.

Israel will see the ‘One’ whom they pierced and mourn because of what they inflicted upon Him. This is spiritually up-to-date for everyone who has trod this earth. God is ever the same in His dealings with you and me and every nation that has existed.

The only entrance into His Kingdom is to come as a born-again believer, born of the Spirit of God.

1. Admit you are a sinner.

2. Confess your sin.

3. Thank Jesus for being your Divine Sinbearer.

4. Now, receive Him as your Lord and Saviour.

5. Pray: “Lord Jesus, I am a sinner, I cannot  measure up to your standards of righteousness, for You are without fault. 

Wash me clean from all my failure and mistakes, rebellion lies and idolatry and witchcraft.

Come into my life and save my Soul. I surrender all that I am and have into your arms.

Holy Spirit baptise me and empower me to live my life as JESUS CHRIST lived in this world.”Amen.

6.Finally,

Obey the teaching of Paul in Ephesians 4:1.

“Therefore I Paul a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to live a life worthy of your calling.”

THE MESSIANIC AND RESTORATION PASSAGES.

Jeremiah’s mission was to a people who had shut their eyes and closed their ears until they had become blind and deaf. They would not hear in their prosperity,

Chapter 12:21. They could not hear in their adversity.

In one sense, they were past praying for, and this is stated three times by God.

“Pray not for my people” chapter 15:1

“Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people. Cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.”

But the ministry of this lovely man carries a golden promise at its heart. Through the thunder and lightening of sin and sadness, shines the golden sunshine of dazzling promises of restoration and consummation, (completion) in the pages of Jeremiah. Here are some of them. (Please read.)

Chapter. 23:3-8.

Chapter 30:1-10.

Right at the heart of the book, then, there is the Gospel. The good news of great days is yet to come.

“For the days shall come that I will bring the captivity of my people and raise unto them DAVID THE KING.”

“Chapter 30:9. This is the blessedness in the 1,000-year reign of CHRIST on this earth, called the Millennial Reign.

Jesus the MESSIAH-KING and this glory of His reign will never end. This gives me sheer Joy to read these passages!

Now in Jeremiah we also have the promise of the New Covenant! Which God will make with Judah and Israel and now to us who are grafted in with God’s chosen people.

This means there is not a return to the old Covenant where laws had to be obeyed to obtain Salvation. But now it becomes a Covenant of Grace based upon forgiveness.

The New Covenant was to centre in a Perfect Ruler who was to come.

The Promised One has now indeed appeared. The New Covenant has been sealed by His Redeeming Blood! Israel will have to wait for the time when they shall,”Look on Him whom they have pierced,” and make Him their Saviour-Messiah-King.

THE SON OF DAVID WHO IS NONE OTHER THAN “JESUS CHRIST” OUR SAVIOUR AND LORD!!

Jeremiah was not given to see the age of the Church, but he saw the Kingdom glories beyond. He views the Rrainbow-circled Throne seen in Revelation chapter four.

The Rainbow of a New Promise.

A New Covenant of Grace poured out for us who have made him LORD.

GLORY TO GOD!

Amen.

The only way you and I can be included into the family of God is to come to the Father through the Son. He made the way open through His suffering and death on the cross. That’s the way we need to come.

Jesus said: “Take up your cross and follow me.”  Under the new (grace) covenant we are willing to obey His commandments because we LOVE HIM.

Our sins are forgiven and we no longer need to earn our way into the Heavenly Kingdom we are welcome to come boldly into the Saphire glory throne and give God all the praise, glory and honour unto Him.

SOME BASIC AND VITAL LESSONS. First, we must face the solemn truth tragically illustrated in this book.

“That all national deterioration and disaster is due fundamentally to a disregarding and disobedience of God.”

See Jer 2:8,19 and 35.

Do you remember us looking at Prov 3:5, 6. please reread the passage once more, maybe, memorize it.

” IN EVERYTHING YOU DO PUT GOD FIRST.” By sensing the power and presence of God.

Trust…  Lean not… In all your ways acknowledge Him.

Then He will DIRECT YOUR PATHS.

Please pray, “LORD, WHAT WOULD “YOU” HAVE “ME” TO DO?”

In all, the whole leadership of the Nation was corrupt, backslidden, wicked and forsaking their God.

The Priests were unbelieving.

The Prophets prophesied lies.

Yet they wouldn’t believe the Man of God or His word.

Today, Jesus is crying out to you.”Believe my words ” Believe me. I will do anything you ask in My Name.” because I am in the Father and He is in Me. Ask and I will do it for you. Don’t you realise I am also in you and whatsoever you ask in my Name the Father will be glorified in the Son.”

“Believe me, believe what I say… you are going to do greater miracles than you see me do.”

Jesus performed so many miracles, and so can we if, we would just believe and step out in faith and allow Him to do them through us.

Yet they refused to listen. But God’s judgement  came upon them. The wrong which they in authority indulged in soon became the lifestyle of the people at large.

Isn’t it true how easily we are influenced by the corruption of the Media, Corruption in Government, and Religion? 

Everything you do must be:

“Christ-centred,

“Word-based” and

“Spirit-led.”

Choose your leaders wisely. Leaders that discuss policy instead of the putting away sin are not to be trusted. When God Himself is forgotten trouble begins, and many people do not realise that it is happening.

Joshua said a long time before Jeremiah.

“Choose this day whom you will serve … “but as for me and my house,”

“WE WILL SERVE THE LORD !”

” So it was then, and so it is today. Events moved on and vindicated Jeremiah. So do events move on today and vindicate all the Jeremiahs of this age? If you feel you are failing, or have failed in your ministry and things have been permitted to happen.

Remember:

“GOD IS STILL ON HIS THRONE … AND HE WILL REMEMBER HIS OWN.”

THE LORD DOES NOT SEE SUCCESS AS WE SEE IT.

NOR SHOULD WE JUDGE THE SUCCESS AND BLESSING OF THE LORD MERELY BY THE SUCCESS WE HAVE ENJOYED.

OR THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WE DRAW INTO OUR CHURCHES.

OR THE SUCCESS OF OTHER MINISTRIES.

God judges Success by your FAITHFULNESS and LOYALTY toward HIM, in the calling He has placed upon you. 

Know this,

He is PLEASED WITH YOU

THE MAN AND HIS MINISTRY.

Jeremiah’s ministry was well over forty years, during the reign of Judah’s last five Kings.

Chapter 1: 1-3.

During his ministry, things were rushing toward the final catastrophe of Judah. He witnessed the destruction of the people he loved so dearly to their utter ruin.

Jeremiah was the prophet of doom at Judah’s midnight hour. He was tender and sensitive, yet possessed the strength to endure the happenings of his time.

It has been said of him. “I know of no man who revealed a truer heart-likeness to Jesus Himself, than that of Jeremiah.”

He bore a deep concern for his fellow countrymen. His guileless motive, his humility, his willingness for self-sacrifice and his utter faithfulness even to the denunciation of sin.

He was disappointed and wept many tears of grief and sorrow over Israel. He was cruelly disregarded, misunderstood, misrepresented and harshly persecuted.

Those of you who are in ministry today should take heart that God Himself understands your pain and persecution and He will come through for you.

Please don’t give up! Remain faithful. I have some first-hand experience. It was during a church split when my husband suddenly died. I know some of the grief and pain that Jeremiah must have suffered. The best healing remedy was… “FORGIVENESS” for myself and others to be able to move forward into a new future and hope. Read Jeremiah 29:11.

Jeremiah’s heart was full of grief and pain, but as the Apostle, Paul…

“HE FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT,” and FINISHED THE BATTLE. (Kept the faith)

He possessed a love and sympathy which he lived and preached in his messages.

We cannot study the book apart from studying the man himself. The man and the message were one! God specially chose him for the times in which he lived.

See Chapter 1:5-continuing.

“BEFORE I FORMED YOU I KNEW YOU AND BEFORE YOU WERE BORN. I SET YOU APART AND ORDAINED YOU AS A PROPHET TO THE NATIONS.”

So Jeremiah was specially fitted for his noble task.

First, let us look at his…

SUFFERING SOUL. His emotional battle was tearing at his heart, for sympathy for God and an inner grieving for his people, which made him suffer with them.

He identified with Jesus, “In all his afflictions He was AFFLICTED.” Jeremiah not only felt for God, but he spoke for God. He did not merely speak for the people, he felt with them.

Jeremiah spends his Nobel love and his pleadings in vain upon a rebellious People.

He suffered from, mockery, and plots against his own life and was embarrassed by the shameful and humiliating punishments, that they inflicted upon him. He is gradually forced to identify with God’s judgement- not at all out of revenge, but out of justice and kindness.

See Jer 11:19,20.

And Jer 23:18-24.

PATIENT PERSEVERANCE.

Only out of love and goodness did this man persevere. Other prophets seemed to have produced some kind of reform. He was like a voice crying in the wilderness. But through the forty years, Jeremiah did not see any grateful response. What an amazing, persevering man of God!

He stood alone as God’s spokesman. Unheeded, humiliated, yet bravely persistent!

Only love can keep us persevering amongst the stubborn and rebellious!

“LOVE NEVER STOPS LOVING. LOVE IS GENTLE AND KIND. LOVE REFUSES TO BE JEALOUS. LOVE BELIEVES ALL THINGS. Especially for others. “LOVE NEVER TAKES FAILURE AS DEFEAT, FOR IT NEVER GIVES UP!”

Remember the persevering LOVE OF GOD is working through this lovely, lonely man. He has become so Sympathetically “One” with God and “With” his message, he becomes the MESSAGE!

My message for you in this day and this hour is… You may feel that you are unproductive, or too old, weak, sick and no one cares about what you decide to do.

DO not! leave, your calling. As your ministry in your church or whatever He has called you to do is not over!

IT WILL TAKE ROOT AND GROW AND SPREAD!

This next verse is of great comfort. BECAUSE GOD IS IN IT. AND HE LOVES YOU DEARLY!

1 Corinthians 15:58. “Be you steadfast and immovable always abounding in the work of the Lord. For inasmuch you know that your labour is not in vain (wasted) in the Lord.

The Lord is preoccupied with faithful, righteous servants. He wants to bless and encourage  you with supernatural power and authority… to do His will,

FOR HIS HONOUR AND GLORY.

AMEN.

A SUMMARY OF THE BOOK OF ISAIAH.

Isaiah, the prophet, speaks out against the corrupt leaders and for those who were disadvantaged by those who ruled over them.

He makes a distinction between the Holiness of God and the obedience to the laws of the old covenant and the results that they brought.

Not only for the Jews but also for us, he brings warnings and great hope if we are obedient to Him through God’s true messenger who came and is yet to come once more.

Jesus is the True Hope of Israel.  

Immanuel God with us. He will establish God’s Kingdom on this earth.

Isaiah’s prophesies are fulfilled in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.

It is almost impossible to study each chapter of this voluminous book. So let’s focus on the first chapter and see what God wants us to know in our day and time so we do not fall away and become rebellious against His Righteousness, Goodness and Holiness.

God wants us to know that He is a personal God. He has a personal Soul as well as a personal Body and Spirit so He is capable of feelings, emotions, desires and soul passions as well.

He becomes weary of trouble as we do. He is disgusted and grieved at His children who were once innocent but now their hands are stained with blood.

Can you imagine how He as a Father felt, how disgusted and exhausted by their rebellious behaviour? He was the Perfect Father!

Can you remember the first time you held your firstborn in your arms?

Inside that beautiful bundle of blankets,

was the innocent face of a child who will fulfil all your hopes and dreams.

Did you hold great aspirations for who he may become, maybe the next President? Or a Billionaire … Someone who will leave a positive mark on this world?

Let us fast-forward to our moment in time. Years have come and gone. Months became years and years brought trouble and rebellion.

The child has been influenced and corrupted and no longer lives a wholesome life. He has been tainted by the instructions that are no longer passed from his generation … but by the heathen who have taught him rebellion, disobedience, idolatry, murder, plunder and cruelty.

Just as it is today. God has become disgusted, and weary because those once holy hands that were held up in praise, prayer and adoration are now stained with blood.

These sins of Judah and Jerusalem are mentioned in this book.

1. Leaning over with iniquity.

2. A generation of evil-doers

3. Having corrupt children.

4. Forsaking Father God.

5. Provoking God unto anger. These corrupt children are contented in their backslidden state.

THE RESULTS OF SIN. Their bodies are full of putrified sores from head to foot. These were incurable… Fatal!

The surrounding country was completely desolate.

The cities were burned with fire. We can view these scenes on our TV screens. Yes, it is so relevant  today.

WHAT CAN A SINNER DO TO REDEEM HIMSELF?

GOD DID SOMETHING!

IT IS NOT TOO LATE. Those people had the Cross of Christ to look forward to with all it would accomplish.

We can look back to the cross and claim redemption, healing and deliverance. With all Jesus had accomplished.

TIME IS SHORT.

JESUS IS COMING FOR HIS OWN.

You need to repent and rid yourself of sinful habits.

Change your hypocrisy.

Pray pure heartfelt prayers.

Offer yourself as a living sacrifice.

Be baptized and wash away corrupt behaviour.

Let us all come back to the cross, repent and live an outstanding Christian life.

Be a doer of God’s Word and not a hearer only.

God will restore all that satan has stolen.

JESUS FORTOLD.

HIS BIRTH.

ISAIAH 9:6. “For unto us a child is born.  Unto us, a son is given. And the government shall be upon His shoulder.

And His name shall be called, Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God,  Everlasting Father. Prince of peace.  And of the government, there will be no end.”

Let’s marvel together at the incarnation of the Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a marvellous study of prophecy concerning our Saviour-Messiah that develops through the Old Testament.

Away back in Genesis, we see God promising. That the “seed” of the woman should “bruise” the head of the serpent. Genesis 3:15.

Later God says to Abraham Gen 8:9.

“ln your seed shall “all Nations” of the earth shall be blessed.

“Gen 22:18.

Next, we find Jacob foretelling that the. “Sceptre” shall not depart from Judah until Shiloh comes.”

Again, later, God makes a pledge to David. “I will set up your seed after you, and I will establish the THRONE OF HIS KINGDOM FOREVER.”

Still later the Prophet Micah declares … “Out of you Bethlehem of Judah. HE shall come forth to be “Ruler” in Israel. Whose goings forth have from been of old from Everlasting.” Micah 5:2.

Then to this, Isaiah adds…

“Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and call His name IMMANUEL,” (GOD WITH US) Isa 7:14.

So it was revealed to Adam of which “RACE” He would come.

Then to Abraham of which”NATION.”

Then to Jacob of which”FAMILY.”

Then to Micah which “PLACE” He would be born.

THEN IT HAPPENED!

“UNTO ‘US’ A CHILD IS BORN. UNTO ‘US’ A SON IS GIVEN.” That the Eternal Son was born, was necessary for Him to be the Kingsman Redeemer. He had to become truly human. God in the flesh.

The Government shall be upon His shoulder. This will happen soon. It will be a real physical Throne and a very, literal KINGDOM on this earth.

JESUS SHALL REIGN IN HIS FULL TITLE AS… WONDERFUL COUNSELLOR; MIGHTY GOD; EVERLASTING FATHER; PRINCE OF PEACE.

We now look forward to His coming World dominion.

There will be peace at last for us and especially for you! There will be an empire ruled with Justice and Judgement as Jesus takes His rightful place on His Eternal Throne.

KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS!! HALLELUJAH!

A KING!
